Rowen veared off course, heading to the city.
She reached the island and collapsed in the sand, tired from staying up for two consecutive nights.
Rowen landed on a roof top and watched the city then flew to watch the beach. When he landed, he saw a girl collapsed on the sand.
Caelaena rolled over and took a deep breath and fell asleep
Rowen flew down and changed back into his Fae form and silently walked over to inspect the the girl.
Caelaena lightly snored
Rowen snorted and kicked her. A beach was no place for a nap.
Caelaena woke up and drew her knives “I was sleeping here” she said angrily
Rowen crossed his arms and looked at the girl, “On a beach?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Why not?” She shrugged and lay back down
“Right okay, but there’s a perfectly nice tavern with rooms you can stay in a few meters behind you.” Rowen looked at the girl.
Caelaena fake thought, “ nope I’m comfortable where I am.” She said and closed her eyes
“Alright then…” He said walking off the beach and back to the city, into the tavern he had mentioned.
ShE continued sleeping
Rowen stayed in the tavern till late, one eye on the sleeping girl outside and one on the door, in case any of the Cadre came in. Luckily they didn’t.
Caelaena woke up 2hours later and decided to practise with her knives. She got ready and started throwing knives at some trees
“You’re holding the knives wrong.” Rowen said, leaning against a near by tree.
“Well I didn’t ask you.” She said unfazed and continued to hit the mark
Rowen shrugged, “I know, just thought you should know.” He said and started to slowly walk away.
“Who even are you? Why have you been watching me all day?!” She asked frustrated
“I haven’t been watching you all day, just… part of the day.”
“Right.” She said scarcastically and knifed a bird from the sky.
“Hm, good shot…” He said, “Who are you? You’re clearly not from Wendlyn.”
“Caelaena.” She said and went to get her bird
“Nice to meet you, Caelaena.” Rowen said.
