Cal looked like a mess. His dark hair was even more disheveled and bruises and cuts marked his body from where the guards had struggled to tie him up. He was pretty sure that the wound on his chest had reopened. Everything hurt. The guards continued to drag him through the streets, as if they were sending a message that said, Don't do what he did or you'll end up like this poor boy. Cal kept his eyes open for Marya, hoping that the king wouldn't get her. He couldn't bare to see her get hurt.
Marya crept up on the forest edge, Abasi right next to her. She had been told that she looked like a cornflower, but she could only see herself.
"Out of all the things you could've illusioned me into, a cornflower? Really!?"
Abasi looked hurt. "Cornflowers are awesome."
(We’re rushing in without a plan.
lETS DO THIS)
"Where's your little love, Mr. Carose?" The King hissed, looking down at him. Cal smirked, shaking his head slightly.
"You're not going to find her." He taunted, which caused him to receive an immediate kick in the chest, right where his wound was.
Nimue flinched from her own position on a tree. She dropped a pebble to catch Marya’s attention, as if asking, “Are we going to make a move now?”
Marya groaned, "Can you make me look like a guard?"
"A gourd?" Abasi looked delighted.
"No! No! A guard!" Marya shout-whispered, ready to lash out if he even tried to make her into a gourd.
He grumbled, flowers falling out of his hair, "Human's are hard."
Cal continued to yell incoherent insults at the king, which resulted in more hits from the king. After a few minutes, he could barely walk and the guards were forced to practically drag him as he struggled to stay up.
She landed lightly on her feet behind them. “I’m going to draw out that one lagging at the end, then we can make it look like he came out to check something and he - you, illusions,- went back saying you found nothing.”
Abasi fixed his flower crown, absentmindedly making fake flowers grow. "Why can't she just be a plant?"
“Because a walking plant would call a bit more attention than we want,” she said drily. Scrambling back into the tree, she threw a pebble which hit the guard square on the back. He stiffened, muttered something to the guard next to him, and walked into the forest. Looking around, he didn’t even notice Marya and Abasi.
Abasi studied the guard and got to work on his illusion, making Marya look like the guard. "I like gourds better…" he muttered, before sending her off. He made her axe look like one of the guard's swords so she could carry it with her. "Remember, the illusion wears off at midnight, so don't wander Cinderella."
Nimue quickly tied the guard she knocked out to a tree deep in the woods.

Marya grunted in acknowledgement and took her place in line, staring at the very palace she'd tried to burn down. She realized, with satisfaction, that some of the scorch marks were still there.
(It’s your legacy.)
The guard nodded at Marya. “Find anything, Feernan?”
What a stupid name. "No, sir. I heard rustling and went to check it out, but it was just a rat." she saluted.
“Alr- okay, better stop talking. King’s gotta give a dramatic speech to draw out the rebels,” he chuckled.
"Rebels. They're so annoying." Marya stifled her laughter and kept her mouth shut.
“Yuup,” he grinned, before his smile faded at the sight of Kirin. “Ugh, the king’s little pet.”
"Yeah, ugh." her disgust was real on that topic. "He's just a kid and he's in a high position. Makes you think he's up to something, right?"
(The King’s cute little pet.)
