(Ok!)
(Sorry that we couldn't start yesterday, I will post a starter today for sure, seeing as it is Friday and I will have ample time this evening. I hope that everyone will be active when I do post the starter!)
OMG I ment to fill out a charecter sheet and i will
Sorry Halloween, I had the intention of giving you the spot, and I can understand being busy. However, your spot was given to someone who managed to fill out a sheet before you, as I do not typically save spots; I prefer to give everyone who wants to join an opportunity.))
As I've told someone before, if a rper becomes inactive or leaves altogether I will tell you and give you another chance to get in a character. Again, sorry,))
Okay! So, if I have approved your character and you are currently online and available to begin roleplaying I would appreciate it if you would just post the word, "here" within the next hour or so, just so I can get an idea of who is going to be around when I post the starter.))
Here.
Here
Here, but just know my replies may be slow after about an hour and a half//
Okay, cool, most of us are here. So, just for reference as to the setting, here are the locations and a bit of information;
Locations ~
The Dome: The Dome is a large glass environment that contains a forested area, as well as an area that resembles a plain. This is the area where the test subjects go for their "out time" as well as to test out their new abilities and exercise. Scattered around The Dome are picnic tables where the test subjects can sit and talk. The Dome is also stocked with birds and small mammals as well as fish in the few ponds.
Cafeteria: As for this room, it's all in the name. This is the part of the building where the hybrids go to get food at three designated times a day, though there is a "bar" that holds fruit that is always available.
The Lab: The Lab is a rather large part of the building where the test subjects are tested upon. This is also the area where they go if they are experiencing health issues. The Lab appears to be a regular hospital ward, just a bit more organized.
The Aquarium: In the Aquarium is a normal pool that has a maximum depth of 11" ft. There is also a much more extended "pool" with glass walls, and man-made caves and dips. This area is generally reserved for the subjects with marine genes, but is occasionally open to the others.
Solitary: The Solitary room is a locked room with large windows and baby blue walls. It also features a bed, and a few books on a night stand as well as a couch. This room is for more aggressive subjects, or those who have been irritated and deemed dangerous.
There are many other rooms in the building, such as offices and the subjects' rooms, however the offices are usually completely off limits unless the doors are open.
Starter: Within the thick glass walls of the Dome, birds could be heard as they chirped and batted their wings. Every morning at around the same time, all of the subjects were sent to this part of the building to get in their morning training. The area they could see once going through the large sliding glass doors was littered with tall trees and picnic tables, as well as the occasional rabbit poking its head through a hole in the ground. Quite a few facility workers were gathered at one clear rectangle of the glass walls, the only part in which they could see in and the subjects could see out. So far everything was quiet, but then again, not everyone was there. Soon the loud beating of wings would be filling the air, as most of the subjects had been given wings.
Bren looked around, his eye ticking. He hadn't been out of the Solitary room for a while and had grown accustomed to the quiet.
Alright, there's the starter and a few bits of information. I hope you guys are happy with it so far! Something I believe I forgot to mention before, you may have two characters, just make sure you can keep up with them both if you decide to make another.))
Clove strode in like she owned the place, keeping her head arrogantly high. She wasn't exactly eager to start the day, but then again, was she ever? Her posture was impeccable, which had come from trying to figure out to master walking with her awkward new body. Lots of practicing. She didn't want to look stupid, especially since they had deemed her fit for some form of leadership. She gazed around the Dome leisurely, imagining she was somewhere (anywhere) else.
Alec sat in the lower branches of a tree with few leaves. His pupils were dilated to large circles as he waited for everyone to enter. Occasionally, he would shift around on the darkly colored tree branch, shaking his tan and white wings as he did so. The large appendages had taken a while to get used to, and he remembered laughing at birds that would shake their wings when they were cold or uncomfortable. Every now and then, he would realize that he was doing the same thing now and mentally laugh at himself. As the sliding doors opened, he watched as someone else entered the Dome. Watching the doors close he felt a tiny gust of cold air come at him from inside the facility, blowing around the tiny feathers just under his eyes. These appeared as freckles, tiny enough to be them. Off to the side, Alec noticed, sat Bren. He had been in Solitary for a while now, and today was one of his first days out.
I don't want to be here! The panicked voice in Bren's head screamed, he looked around in fear as he heard a large crash. Calming down after seeing that it was just an idiot punching a boulder.
Clove's eyes wandered over to Bren, noticing that he hadn't been around in a while. She wondered what he had done to get put in solitary confinement. Her gaze skimmed over him, trying to figure out what was with him.
Alec hopped down from the branch, which was only a few feet from the ground. His tightened his wings to his back, letting out a puff of air as he began walking forward. Nearing the place where Bren was sitting, Alec crouched down a few feet from him. He still had little to no idea what Bren had done to get into Solitary, and didn't want to find out from personal experience. Alec's pupils dilated to slits as he began speaking, "Are you okay out here?" He asked, putting his hands on the ground in front of him to help keep his balance. His wings were heavy, and he didn't feel like falling onto his back.
Alec's eyes floated around the Dome once more before he directed them back to Bren, waiting for a response.
Bren was lost in thought for a moment but snapped back to reality when Alec asked his question. Bren stared at him, his stare screaming dead inside. "Who's ever okay in this world?" He asks softly, and quite creepily.
Alec gave a single nervous laugh, and plopped down fully on the ground. He winced as the tips of his wings -in which he could feel- hit the ground. The sound echoed in his ears and he cringed, the feeling of hollowness in the bones of his wings staying with him for a few moments more. He loved flying when he felt up to it, but the hollowness bothered him when he was aware of it. Sitting upright, he collected himself again. "Well, I would like to think that it could be quite a bit worse." Alec said, his tone optimistic.
"Could it though, I think not," Bren said memories from his time in solitary comforted him, his days there were quiet and left him alone. He liked alone.
Kelton quietly walked into the Dome to start his morning training. His doctors have deemed him as 'dangerous' just because he was mixed with a werewolf. In his opinion, it was just purely stupid. People shouldn't be judged on something they have no control over, and he had gotten experience of stuff like that first hand.
Clove glanced over at Kelton, trying to appear cool and disinterested as usual. She didn’t think she had seen him before.
Kelton didn't pay attention to anyone as he started his routine. It was the exact same thing, Every. Single. Day.
Alec raised his head in acknowledgement to Bren's words. True, at times, things were very stressful at the facility and Alec had been pushed to a point to where he thought he would kill over from exhaustion. But in his mind, that was just part of making him stronger and better prepared to deal with his new attributes. He had found a way of justifying most of the things that were done to him, and to the others in his own mind. Most others, he thought, would think of him as foolish for having this set up in his head. Alec's eyes flashed over to the doors once more as Kelton quietly padded into the Dome.
