Finn sat down sipping his soda. He left room for Jay next to him on the couch.

(gtg for now)

Jay sat down near Finn, but not pressed up close like normal.

Finn turned to him slightly. He was stiff. When he was about to speak the front door opened and more guests came in.

Jay sighed softly as more people came in, running a hand through his hair.

Finn stood up to greet a few of them but ended up just sitting back next to Jay. "Dinner should start soon," he whispered. He was still very stiff.

(not gonna be on tonight sorry)

Jay nodded a little bit. "Okay. You alright?" He replied softly, looking at Finn.

"Yeah I'm fine," He half lied smiling at Jay. Everyone started to sit at the table so Finn stood up.

Jay got up, running a hand through his hair, a little nervous.

Finn sat down at the table far away from his aunt. There was a free seat next to him. He took the cloth napkin and placed it on his lap.

Jay sat down next to Finn after a moment.

Finn glanced at him. The caters came out and placed salads in front of them.

Jay bit his lip slightly, glancing around the table, then at his plate.

Finn ate some of his salad. He bumped his leg against Jay.

Jay glanced over at him, flashing a quick smile, then started to eat his salad.

Finn ate and listened in on the conversations around him but didn't join in.

Jay kept eating quietly, eyes flicking around and observing everyone.

Finn kept their legs touching. He finished off his salad as Richard directed something to him. Hey, Finn are you still doing that hospital internship?"
"Yeah I am. I've been working on my college applications and my guidance counselor said it will look great," finn answered.

Jay finished his own salad, listening to Richard and Finn talk, not saying anything.

“That’s great Finn! Jay What do you plan to do after high school?” He asked. The other guests seem to be off on their own discussions.

Jay looked up. "Hm? Oh. Uhm. I…I'm not sure yet." he admitted, the tips of his ears turning pink with embarrassment.

“Jay’s really good at drawing though,” Finn interrupted trying to save him. “Richard does all kinds of art too Jay.” He turned to Richard. “I was actually thinking of going to the museum to see your new exhibit.” Richard smiled and nodded.

Jay bit his lip a little bit, and nodded slightly. "Oh, alright."

Finn bumped his leg again slightly. There was an awkward silence that wasn’t really silent since everyone else at the table was talking. The staff came out again and passed out main course. It was some steak.

Jay smiled a little bit, bumping Finn's leg in return.

Finn smiled as well.he tried his best not to stop himself not to just straight up kiss him. He ate a bite of steak and the vegetables next to them.
