//okey dokey lol
“Your eyesight hasn’t failed yet, Jones,” Rupert said with a faint smile. “If you wouldn’t mind showing Jace the options for his room, I have a quick call I need to hop onto. I’ll be back in time for lunch.” He waved at Jace and began ascending the stairs.
Jace curled his hands together over the bear, staring nervously at the butler, who straightened up with a warm smile on his face.
“Follow me.” He led the smol up another flight of steps, to his choice of rooms (I’ll let you describe, if that’s okay).

The hallway of possible bedrooms had three doors: two on one side, one on the other. It was papered with maroon wallpaper, but when you opened the door to a bedroom, the room was either papered with blue stars on a background of white, light yellow stars on a background of light blue, or, in the door on its own, plain light grey. The plain light grey room was actually Rupert’s… I forgot to mention that….
Both of the possible rooms had tall, four-post beds and huge windows, letting in loads of natural light. Both also had a wardrobe, a desk, and a nightstand.
(Neat)
Jones smiled warmly as Jace poked his head into the plain gray room. “Is this one taken?”
“Unfortunately that’s Rupert’s room. I think the room with the white backdrop would suit you quite well, however.”
Jace looked into the room the butler mentioned. “O-okay.”
Jones bowed. “If you need anything, call.”
Jace nodded and scootched into the room. Yes, he was curious about the rest of the mansion (as it was opt for a smol to explore) but a bigger, more demanding part of him made him go into his new room, to squelch his need for exploring.
Rupert’s call was very boring, and he couldn’t help but sigh in relief when it was over. He decided to go to the Hall of Bedrooms, as his wife had dubbed it, and see which room Jace had chosen.
Jace had plopped down on the ground once he investigated the closet, holding his bear close.
A gentle voice hummed in Jace’s right ear; He’s back! Jace thought with a swooping sensation in his tummy. He looked over his shoulder to see a shadowy figure, whose only distinguishable features were his long hair, eyes and wide, white smile.
Jace reached out for the figure who sighed and gently embraced the smol. How are you doing today, dear? It asked in a hazy, soft male voice.

Rupert walked into the Hall of Bedrooms. “Jace? Are you here?”
(Did i describe it okay?)
Jace hopped up, and the figure dissolved.
“Yeah, I’m in here!” Jace reached down for his bear, which tumbled onto the ground from his sudden movement.
//yeah perfect
Rupert walked in. “You chose the blue star room, hey?” He said with a smile. “Good choice.”
(Thanks!)
Jace nodded and glanced around. “It’s nice. The bed’s bouncy amd squishy.”
//:D
“I’m glad you like it,” Rupert smiled. “Do you want anything else in here? Redecorate or anything?”
Jace shook his head. “No, this is nice. Thank you, sir.”
Rupert nodded. “No worries,” he said softly. “If you ever need anything, let me know.”
Jace nodded. “Okay, sir. I will do that.” He smiled nervously up at Rupert.
Rupert smiled at Jace and then said in a normal tone, “Well, Jace, I am hungry. Would you like to join me for lunch?”
Jace nodded polietly. “Yes, please,” He squeaked softly.
“Sounds good,” Rupert said, clapping his hands together. “The informal dining room is this way.”
“In…Informal?” Jace asked as he walked over to Rupert. “What’s that?”
“Not fancy,” Rupert explained.
“Not… not fancy??” Jace tilted his smol head.
“No cloth napkins, silk table runners, stiff manners,” Rupert tried again. “Simplistic.”
Jace blinked. “People use that stuff??”
“Only at big dinners with important guests,” Rupert said hastily.
Jace shook his head tiredly. “It sounds like a lot of work!”
“It is,” Rupert admitted sheepishly.
