The nurse pulled a rather thin folder out of a cabinet. She set it down on her desk and Rupert was able to clearly read, “Jacen Amos Williams— 11/12/11- 50PP”. She pulled out some papers, some had other signatures, others were small and signatureless. She gave Rupert two papers, one finalizing his use of 50PP and th other adopting the smol.
//“the smol” XD
Rupert read the papers and signed his name (or initialed) wherever necessary. Within minutes, Jacen belonged to him. “Thank you,” he said in his ‘we have closed a deal’ voice to the nurse.
(xD and refer Jacen as Jace if you’d like)
The nurse nodded curtly and printed his copies. “There you go, sir. Jacen doesn’t have any belongings, other than the clothing on his back, and what he claims as his father’s teddy bear.” She rolled her eyes. “But it’s actually his.”
//okey dokey
I couldn’t remember which one to use lol
Rupert nodded, accepting his copies of the paperwork from the nurse and standing up. “I will walk him out myself. Thank you for your time.”
The nurse nodded. “Raise him well, sir. Have a nice day.” She turned to put the folder back.
Rupert walked back to where he’d left Jace. “Ready to go?”
Jace looked up, suddenly holding his bear. It was a raggedy thing, one of the button eyes was hanging off, and it was a muddy brown color.
Jace nodded with a nervous grin. “Yes, sir!”
“Good! My car (?) is waiting just outside to take us home,” Rupert said, offering a hand to Jace. “Do you… ah… want to hold my hand?”
(Yis car is fine)
Jace stared at Rupert’s outstretched hand and tenitively reached for it. Rupert’s arm twitched (i dunno sorry) and Jace jumped away, as though he were afriad Rupert was going to lash out at him.
//okey dokey
Lol its okay
“Ah, I’m, um… I’m so sorry…. let’s just walk outside now,” Rupert stuttered. He hadn’t been this flustered in a while.
Jace nodded innocently and trailed after Rupert, to his car. It was big, black and shiny (?); to smol Jace, rather indimidating.
//sure lol
Rupert’s chauffeur got out of the driver’s side and walked around to where they were standing. Rupert told Jace, “This is Willems. He will drive you wherever you need to go.” Willems nodded, smiled timidly, and opened the door for Rupert and Jace to get into the backseat.
//is that ok
(Yis!)
Jace smiled nervously back and wiggled into the back seat, his short legs wiggling tirelessly.
He soon got onto the seat and buckled in slowly, then tensed in the seat a little.
“You okay?” Rupert asked, concerned. “I have, ah… candy?” He offered a chocolate bar to Jace that he’d found in his briefcase.
Jace blinked at the candy as if he’d never seen something like it before and took it.
“What is it, sir?” He asked quietly, with a squeak, as he unwrapped it. He jumped as the smell hit his nostrils.
“It smells good!”
“Chocolate,” Rupert chuckled. “It tastes as good as it smells. You can, um, try it, if you want.”
Jace sniffed it tenderly and took a tenitive nibble. A few moments more, it was gone, and the remains were on his lips.
Rupert laughed. “Did you like it?” he asked, taking another one out of his briefcase. “I keep a stash.”
Jace giggled faintly as he took the second. “It’s really good!” He squeaked in his defence as he demolished the second bar of chocolatey goodness.
“I’m glad you enjoy it,” Rupert smiled. “I’m afraid I don’t have any more in my briefcase, but there are plenty more at the house. And it’s about lunchtime, too. Ahh, here we are.”
The car pulled up to a mansion, the driveway alone the size of a house in the poorer parts of the city. (?) Willems opened the door for them, and Rupert got out of the car.
(Yee)
Jace nodded and licked his fingers, only to jump when Williems opened the door. Jace unbuckled his seatbelt and scrambled out of the car, gazing, transfixed, up at the mansion.
“There are, ah, several rooms you can choose from,” Rupert said, leading Jace up to the front door. “And then we’ll, um, we can get stuff to decorate it with. However you want.”
Jace nodded unsurely and followed Rupert to the front door, squeezing his bear. He started to regret flinching away from Rupert’s hand earlier; he really wanted a hand to hold.
Rupert stepped up to the door, and it opened. He nodded at the butler, and said to Jace, “This is the butler, Jones. He can help you figure out your way around the house.” To Jones, he said, “Jones, this is Jace.”
Jace blinked his wide eyes at Jones.
(I love RPing butlerrrs so i claim him)
Jones nodded gruffly to the smol and bowed to the pair. “I see you decided to adopt a child, after all, sir.” He gazed up at Rupert. “Not a bad choice, as I can see.”
Jace turned a faint red at the compliment.
