"So, did you do any surfing on the weekend?" she asked, pushing a peice of hair out of her face
He thought for a second remembering how dead the waves had been lately, "if you count the small waves then yes." He finished his ice cream, "how about you? Any biking lately?"
"Everyday, all day" she replied. "I'm supposed to go downtown with the them sometime this week to pickup some new parts. We're fixing up a jeep and racing it down an abadonded highway." she hummed, taking another bite of icecream
"Sounds…dangerous?" Lucas smiled lopsidedly and cocked his head slightly. "I mean I'm not judging just-" he cut himself off not wanting to offend her, "never mind."
"Yeah it is, We're adreneline junkies though. They can't help it." she smiled. "Don't worry" she added, letting a small, shy laugh escape her perfectly framed lips as to lighten the mood.
Lucas smiled awkwardly, "yeah. Most bikers are after all." He didn't under stand why bikers didn't like surfers, they all seemed to like doing dangerous things.
"So um, how's your icecream?" she asked, sitting on the bench outside
"Its good." Lucas gave a dorky smile, "how's yours?"
Mia blushed lightly at his dorky smile, "Pretty good." she replied. It was now 2:50, almost closing time for the antique shop. "So." she hummed, letting her feet fall where they would sturdily underneath her and pushing herself up, "Thank you for today" she smiled, the blush returning in a light shade of baby pink across her pale, freckled face
"Ah, your welcome? Thank you for inviting me to tag along." Lucas stood and stretched. He'd most likely call Robin and they'd surfer for a few hours before turning in to go home.
Mia's mind went blank and soon went to the surf board in her garage, the one her mom had gotten for her last year. She hadn't grown an inch. Maybe she'd try it out today. "No problem" she replied, gently tossing her cup in the trash bin
Lucas looked over at his car, his bored in the back. "Do you- uh." He stumbled over his words. "Do you know how to surf? If not I could teach you if you wanted."
"I do actually" she replied, a slight nervous smile spread across her face. "I love it" she hummed, glancing over at his board in the back
"Y-you do? Would you maybe like to catch some waves sometime?" Lucas sounded like a little kid that was overly excited about something. chill out. he told himself trying to regain his cool.
"That would be amazing" she replied, a wide smile spread across her face
Lucas was just about to invite Mia to go surfing now when his phone buzzed. The ringtone what he'd set for his brother. "I- I got to go sorry." He stepped in to give her a hug good bye but quickly stopped himself and waved instead running off to his car.
"Bye" she hummed. She soon was home and did her homework
Lucas got home throwing his bag in the corrnor closet, "hey bro." Aaron called from to kitchen. "How was school?" Lucas shrugged sitting down across from his older brother, "how was work?" Aaron shrugged in return.
