Basically, it's an urban fantasy thing where the world is very overrun with Monsters, and people who qualify to fight them are enlisted and trained. They start out in a school/boot-camp, and are trained accordingly. There are several facets of the idea.
Weapons: Everyone has a signature melee weapon and a flare gun as a side-arm. Back to melee, all the weapons are forged by the characters themselves. The weapons are often enchanted or alchemically enhanced.
The Wisps: Most people can learn minor magic, usually stuff like locking, unlocking, opening and shutting doors-windows, or vwry minor curses or blessings. The wisps, are liquified or vaporised serums that grant magic, which is temporary. Here are the most common ones.
Firewisp: When origon crystals are saturated in dragon blood for a day or two, it creates Firewisp. This grants users affinity for fire and pyrokinesis.
Waterwisp: When origon crystals are saturated in leviathan blood, we get Waterwisp, allowing aquatic adaptations and hydrokinesis.
Earthwisp: Origon crystals saturated in behemoth blood makes Earthwisp. This grants geokinesis, and enhances one's ability to take punishment and recover from it to superhuman levels.
Airwisp: Origon crystals and griffon blood, when saturated, make Airwisp, granting adaptation to high altitude, as well as aerokinesis.
Lightwisp: Origon crystals ehen soaked in formented unicorn blood creates Lightwisp. With it, you can generate strong forcefields, cure most ails, and manipulate light.
Darkwisp: Cured cerberus blood, when origon crystals are soaked in it, creates Darkwisp. With it, you can travel through shadows, summon demonic familiars, and manipulate darkness.
Other wisps exist, although they are rare.
Lightningwisp, Bloodwisp, Metalwisp, Gaswisp, Heavenwisp, and Deathwisp, among others. Furthermore, while everyone can use Wisps, they can only truly excel in one.
Monsters: Monsters, are special snowflakes, and I don't mean thst in the offensive way that conservatives use it. No two truly look or act the same, despite the fact thst they are made of the same stuff mentally and physically. Although thete are types of monsters that do. Dragons, are a breed of huge, reptile-like monsters, that fly using great wings and breathe fire. Leviathan are water beasts, Behemoth, beasts of land, Griffons are beasts of the air, unicorns are horselike beasts of compassion, and cerberuses, are three-headed monsters of death, and fiery, savage dogs of fire called Hellhounds.
Races: Humans, elves, dwarves, nekos and fae. That's it?
