"Uh well- I mean… nothing super exciting…" She said quietly. "Just the usual rally. Why?"
"Uh well- I mean… nothing super exciting…" She said quietly. "Just the usual rally. Why?"
"Because we wanted all inputs to consider the future of this bar." The manager told her "Do you think what they're doing is harmful and disruptive or should we keep the policy unchanged and still accept everyone? All in favor?"
Joanna raised her hand high with a determined look. She crossed her fingers and hoped everyone agreed. "Please…" She mumbled.
There seemed to be a fair amount of people who agreed. Was it over half though? She couldn't tell by the time "And against?" was said
She dropped her hand and sucked in a deep breath. "Please?" She whispered again.
There were a good few against as well. The manager wrote down the results counting over them several times. He looked kinda frustrated to be honest
"Everything OK boss?" She asked softly trying to see the numbers he had written down.
"It's even. How the hell are we going to break this?"
"We leave it as it is. No need to change it." She said determined to keep it the way it is.
He looked to her and raised an eyebrow "Convince me why we should and we will."
"It's just the same as the black people. We don't want that happening again." She reasoned.
"yes but these things aren't like black people. These things are dangerous." He countered
"Not all of them. Some are just trying to be normal." She reasoned in a pleading tone.
He gave her a funny look for second until another person spoke and told them about the time his car had broken down and a shape shifter had helped jumpstart it back "I mean we're not perfect either. Have you looked what we're doing to the planet?" the cook who had spoken up said.
Joanna turned to him and smiled. "See! Thank you!" She grinned turning back to her boss. "Why should we downgrade them? How about if they threaten us we ban them, that's the only fair thing to do." She said softly. "But not all of them, just the specific person."
"Alright Jo you have something…we'll put that new policy in place. The same one we have for us." The manager decided.
Joanna felt a huge relief. She sat in a seat and took a deep breath. "Oh thank the heavens…" She mumbled.
"Aright open the doors back up and get to work!" The manager barked as he went into the back room.
Joanna went and stood behind the counter smiling. "Hey- John, what was your vote?" She asked softly.
"don't get mad but it was against…I'm just kinda nervous around them." John responded
She gave a small smile. "It's cool, there's no need to be scared of them." She told him gently.
"How do you know? You seemed so sure when you spoke about them."
(Gtg friend. Night!)
"I-I've met one…" She said in a soft tone.
"What are they like?" He whispered back as he cleaned the counter
"Nice- super sweet…" She smiled thinking of Tempest.
