Ash huffed. “It’s stupid.” She walked to her next class, Mechanics training, and went to one of the desks.
Ash huffed. “It’s stupid.” She walked to her next class, Mechanics training, and went to one of the desks.
"They're stupid."
Lintar moved to the next corridor to their next class
Ash breezed through the next two classes and went to the common area.
Lintar was sitting in a remote area looking at their hologram, making sure no one was near
Ash sat down and sighed, pulling out her laptop and getting some homework done.
"You seriously still use these?"
Ash nodded. “They still work fine, so why not?”
"I mean, we have these." they pointed to the minuscule silver ball producing the hologram on their wrist, "No one is going to see it anyway."
“I like these though.” She pouted, fingering her silver ball.
"The Lighthouse is coming." they whispered and pulled down their jacket sleeve to cover the hologram
“Why are you doing that?” She asked.
"Mr Inray, you dolt!"
"Sorry didn't see him." She covered up her hologram and continued on her homework.
Lintar risked a glance at the bald man and went back to work
"I don't think he likes us." She whispered,
"Can't wait to report us." they flicked a page in their textbook, "the government, I meant, not the principal."
""I wish I could leave." She muttered.
"Me too."
"They would notice though, if we tried. We're watched every second of the day."
"Unless…Never mind." Lintar put away their things, "I'm getting food. You coming?"
"Unless what?" She asked, standing up as well.
They shook their head, "Nothing."
"Okay, yeah let's get food."
Lintar joined the line of students in the canteen, ignoring the whispers
Ash stood behind them, glaring at anyone who whispered.
