"I hope so too and, i only have one question. Am i allowed in the library?" he asks, quickly changing the subject.
"Yes. The library is open to you all hours of the day. If that is all," She said, rubbing a hand up her face. "could you tell my butler to fetch another noble? He's waiting just outside the door."
"Of course." He said, getting up and bowing to her before exiting the door and telling her butler that she wanted to interrogate another noble.
Matteo nodded. "Would you like me to lead you anywhere?" He asked, holding the door to the hallway open. Based on what he'd been able to eavesdrop, Prince Angel might want to visit the library. At least one new noble wanted to visit the library every time a new cycle came.
"No thank you, I'm going to head to the library and i can find my way there." he says politely, moving past him and down towards the library.
Matteo nodded once, hurrying into the hall where the nobles had been assigned their rooms. Hopefully, there would be someone who hadn't spoken with Mistress Giovanna who he could bring up to her.
(Anyone on who hasn't spoken to Giovanna yet?)
"Ma'am," She said, bowing her head and shuffling over to the makeup. She closed each container, wondering what they were and how they would look on her. When she was finished she sat on the mahogany trunk at the end of Lady Lucy's bed. "Would you like me to fasten your hoop?"
"No, I think that I can do it by myself, thank you though." Lucy put on her heels before getting up to fasten her hoop. "Do you know how much time I have until the next thing to do?"
"Mistress said we would be having an informal dinner tonight, Ma'am. Food will be set out inβ¦" She let her voice trail off as she looked at the clock, only to realize that dinner had already begun being served. "7 minutes ago. I can lead to the informal dining room after you pull your skirts on."
"Please do." She said while going to put on her skirts. When she was done, she did a quick check in the mirror, making sure nothing was sticking out and that her hair was fine. She opened the door and allowed Bianca to go in front of her so she could lead the way.
Bianca quickly stepped into the hall, walking through the walls with a sure foot. Until she tripped over nothing and fell flat on her face. Graceful as always. She groaned, shoving herself into a sitting position and grabbing her nose. At least it wasn't bleeding.
Lucy sped up a bit when she saw the maid fall and bent down to help her up. "Is it bleeding? Do you need to go to the medic?" She asked while inspecting the nose a bit. The maid was young and still learning so she didn't hold it against her.
"I'm fine, Ma'am." Bianca brushed Lady Lucy off as she shakily rose to her feet, cursing heavily in her head. Her nose hurt terribly and her head was pounding heavily, but she could walk off her injuries. She threw on an unconvincing smile. "Let's continue to the informal dining room, shall we?"
Lucy looked at her again, seeing more red rise to Bianca's face. "Are you sure?" She asked, a bit skeptical about her well-being.
"Yes, Ma'am. This happens all the time." Her tone became resigned as she dusted off the bottom of her skirt, stepping carefully to avoid another fall. Her head throbbed painfully, but she ignored it, walking shakily toward the informal dining room. She could see a medic after she escorted Lady Lucy.
(Heading to bed, goodnight.)
(Good morning)
"Thank you." Lucy said to the maid as she walked into the dining room and took her seat. People were lightly chatting and starting to get ready to eat. "Pardon me for being late." She said as she took the last seat that was open.
"You are fine, we were only just starting to eat," Cordelia whispered to the girl who had taken a seat next to her in the only open spot, and smiled at her.
Lucy gave a warming smile back while placing her piece of cloth on her lap. "I'm guessing Lady Giovanchi gave everyone the same interview, right?" She asked Lady Cordelia, trying to spark some conversation.
"I definitely did but, I can't speak for everyone. I imagine we all did though. The basic who are you, what do you know, how well do you know your people, etcetera, etcetera." Cordelia took a small sip of her water. "I'm Cordelia, by the way," she said, smiling.
"Lucy. And yes, that is what she asked me, so I'll assume she asked most people the same." Lucy watched as the servants began serving food and took a bite out of hers. "So, where do you come from?"
"I'm from Oriel. We're very small, you may not have heard of us," she replied, thanking a servant who served her food.
"I cannot say I have but tell me more about it." She inquired, before taking a sip from her wine.
"Well, we were recently involved in a war with a neighboring kingdom over trade disagreements, silly things. It devastated our civilian and knight populations alike. That was fifty years ago and we have been focusing on a bit more global economy and building up our country from the inside through education and such." Cordelia realized how long she had been talking and shifted a bit in her chair. "Sorry, I'm just proud of how far we've come," she said, smiling. "Where do you come from?"
"No worries, actually, I'm from Edgewater. It's not very large but large enough. The community is very social and we all know one another. We throw large festivals and fairs and we have pretty good alliances. A few centuries ago, the people ruling the city were horrible people and only wanted what was best for them. They thought they were the best and loved declaring wars that they would not do anything about and just keep them there. It was terrible and they falsely took put people in jail and made them pay large taxes." Lucy took a deep breath while noticing that she was rambling.
"Anyways, the next family kept it going until just one century ago, they had to restore and change the whole government around and use more trustworthy and good people. Not every place is perfect, but I too am proud of how we changed from a corrupt government to this. It's most likely the reason why my parents sent me here, so I wouldn't become like them, although I highly doubt it." She finished eating the remaining food on her plate before continuing. "What do you like the most about your town?"
"Well if you mean the town in which I grew up, I love the parks and the libraries there. Neither of them are very good, but I'm pushing to change that," she said taking a bite of her food. "As far as countries go, it sounds like ours are in similar situations."
Lucy nodded in agreement while placing his knife and fork on the plate to show that she was finished. "What do you plan on doing on your stay here?"
