Lucy stepped down the marble floors and into a door that would lead to the duchesses parlor. "Hello, I have been summoned." She said while entering.
"Indeed you have." Giovanna agreed, signaling that she should sit in the chair next to her. "Do you know why you are at my mansion, Child?" She asked, hoping their parents had seen fit to tell them they were here to learn how to be proper leaders, spouses, and nobles.
"Yes, your Grace. I believe it was about etiquette and preparation for us to lead our people, was it not?" She answered while moving towards the chair.
(Haven’t responded in a bit oof)
Corbin was stationed in the hallway outside of the bedrooms. He had a long shift, so he supposed he might as well get comfortable there. He was sitting, despite the fact he should have been standing and alert. Who would attack them at this home, anyways?

She let a light grin grace her lips. "You are correct. How much do you know about the land you rule?" It was a fairly standard question, one of the many she would ask to assess these children's ability to rule. She absolutely refused to take in hopeless cases.

Bianca returned from her trip to Lucy- LADY LUCY, she corrected herself. It was improper to address the nobility by their unadorned first name. She passed one of the guards and noticed he was sitting. She snorted. "If you don't want to get in trouble you should probably stand," She called as she passed.
"Almost everything. Of course, there are some things I still do not understand, and probably will not until later on, but for now, I think it is just enough." Lucy crossed her legs before adjusting herself on the somewhat, very soft chair.
Giovanna nodded. "Do you understand the common people? The servants? The slaves?" Another way to suss out her ability. A good ruler lived in the people's hearts, not their nightmares. A great ruled lived among them.
Corbin glared sharply at the woman’s back, grunting in response. He scoffed a tad to himself at that. He assumed that by that first impression, he would be treated like trash here among these other royal bloods.

Bianca frowned, smoothing down her servant's dress with a harsh gesture and making a sharp turn to face him. "Excuse me! I was just trying to give you some advice." Honestly, it was like Matteo hadn't even been thinking when he hired this one. Didn't they teach men of her class respect anymore?
"Yes, yes I do. We have some back at Edgewater, but we do not really need them, so when we get the chance, we send them back home to their families." Lucy slightly smiled when she remembered that last year, they had a large town gathering where everyone cam and there was so much fun and they were able to know their servants on a more personal level.

Giovanna nodded once more. She hardly needed to test this girl, it was clear she had all the trappings of a leader. Of course, she could always be proven wrong. Although they were far in the past, Giovanna had made bad decisions before. "You've been educated on philosophy, language, maths, and the others?"
“I doubt that any of the royals here will care if I’m sitting just for a moment,” Corbin said in response. He suffered pains from times because of his previously injured leg. The muscle had been damaged pretty badly, so it would ache terribly at times.
"It's not the nobles you need to worry about," Bianca said, putting emphasis on their proper title. "Matteo's always walking around the halls looking for people who are slacking off. He'll crop the guards if they don't do their jobs."
"Arithmetic, grammar, history, and geography too. Although I feel like history is a bit unnecessary, since it has events that had happened in the past and nothing about it would help guide me to this day, except for the people not to become like."

Giovanna held in her resigned expression, nodding with a blank face as she had to all the other questions. History was the greatest teacher, and this girl would clearly need instruction in that. "Well, you seem well versed. Is there any information you would like me to know before you return to your room?"
Corbin released a sharp and reluctant huff. “I should get some sort of bloody pass,” he grumbled to himself as he gingerly stood up.

"Become a house servant," She teased. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you around. I'm Bianca, by the way." She wove a lock of hair back into her bun hoping Matteo wouldn't skulk up out of nowhere to terrorize them.

"No, none at all." She said while standing up. "I am very pleased to be here." She said before doing a small curtsy and leaving the room.
"I am pleased to have you here." She said, nodding her head in respect. "If you will, go to the parlor and tell Lady Cordelia she may enter. And tell Matteo to fetch Prince Angel."
"The Lady would like to see you." She told Cordelia who was sitting in a chair. She saw Matteo nearby and ushered him towards her. "The duchess would like you to bring Prince Angel."
"I have worked for Mistress Giovanna for…" He let his answer trickle off, thinking back to when he first began his work at the manor. He was so small and inexperienced then, naught but a simple farm boy helping fetch things from the town. "35 years, though I have only been the head butler for 17 of them." He stopped talking when Lady Lucy entered, quickly leaving the room to fetch Prince Angel.
"Oh, thank you." Cordy smiled at Matteo. "We should talk more later." She stood up and walked to the parlor, where she poked her head in. "Matteo said you wanted to speak with me Your Grace?" she asked.
