Abby looked at the new messages. It buzzed again.
Erik
R u still at work babe? I can come there
Her eyebrows shot up in alarm, showing River the last message. "He can't come here, but I don't want to respond."
(Ok, quick clarification. They are long distance, but the reason they are meeting, or were supposed to meet, is that Eric is visiting family. Jsyk!)
(Okay.)
River gently took his phone and looked at her, "Did he break up over text? Cause if so we could say your sick?"
"We?" Abby asked. "You'd help me?"
Erik (2)
Baby, come on
I'm on my way
River nodded and said with slight urgency, "Of course. Now was it over text or not? He's coming."
River quickly typed up
Abby
Don't
I'm really sick rn
Sorry
"There. That should do it right?"
Abby nodded, then ducked down in the driver's seat. "He's here. It's too late," she whispered frantically.
Erik
Hey babe. I c u 😍😘💋
River slid down, "Sorry. I tried."
He began to formulate a plan.
"It's fine."
Erik
Who's that?
"He saw you," Abby read.
River groaned he handed back her phone. He got up, "I'll go talk to him alright?"
Erik
Babe, answer me
"I'm come with you." Her eyes lit up. "I have a crazy idea. Be my boyfriend?"
Erik (2)
Babe who is that
Abby answer me
River shrugged with a slight smirk, "Whatever you say dear."
Abby grinned hopefully. It had to work. She got out of the car and waited for River on the other side.
Erik
Baby, come over to my truck
(This is adorable and hilarious)
River got out after messing with his hair for a moment. He walked around and wrapped an arm around Abby's waist. This is what boyfriends did right?
Abby smiled and lead him across the parking lot to where the Corvette was parked. Erik got out of his car and waited for her. His expression became unreadable as they came closer.
River smiled lazily and waved at Erik. He said in a pleasant tone, "Hey."
"Hey," Erik responded. His eyes narrowed at Abby. "Babe, come on." He looped his arm expertly around her waist, basically shrugging River's off, and kissed Abby's temple. "We're gonna go for a ride, okay baby?" Abby slipped out if his grip and curled into River's side, putting her hand in his chest.
"You broke up with me this morning. I've moved on," she said, kissing River's cheek.
River held his blush back as he kissed her temple right where Erik had just. He smiled at Erik, "Ah, so your the guy who breaks up over text at five in the morning. A grade A douche."
"…." Tara sighed. "I don't know…."
(WELCOME TO THE PLANET. WELCOME TO EXISTENCE. EVERYONE'S HERE. EVERYBODY'S WATCHING YOU NOW)
Darren laughed and closed his eyes again, he almost hoped she'd sleep.
Erik stiffened.
Abby snuggled closer to River. She hoped that he couldn't feel her heart pounding.
(Lol Ty)
(And…..)
Tara, too exhausted from the past few days, lost her battle to keep her eyes open and had drifted off to sleep.
(Your stalker has popped in to say, "Switchfoot?!?")
Erik stiffened.
Abby snuggled closer to River. She hoped that he couldn't feel her heart pounding.
River studied him and scoffed. Three years in drama was doing him well, "You certainly look the part."
