Darren’s phone was buzzing on the table in the living room, he as doing his best to ignore it but his brother was persistent as always.
Tara looked up at Darren. She gave him a questioning look.
“It’s no one,” he said quickly.
Tara frowned but said nothing about it. "Okay."
He wondered If Tara would be gone by the time he got here… hopefully. “So What would you like to do?” He tapped his foot nervously and glanced at the door.
Tara shrugged. "I don't know. Just….being here with you is enough."
Darren looked back at her with a smile, “Okay,”
Tara scrunched up her nose. She did an imitation of Darren with a laugh.
Darren quirked an eyebrow, “Are you mocking me over there?”
"Mm…..mmmaaaayyybbbbeeee….." Tara replied.
Darren squinted and took a step around the counter that previously separated them, "You're maybe mocking me? That's not very nice," His smile was painted with mischief.
"Aw, but it's fun!" Tara teased.
Darren chuckled, "I'm sure it's fun,"
(Oh my goodness my sister just called me on my new phone and it scared the living daylights out of me
Which brings me to the fact that she called me from downstairs just to say I had to help with supper…lol)
"But?"
"But? But what?"
(Lol. So I take it you gtg for a little while?)
(Yeah I should be back soon)
"I don't know."
(Alright have fun)
Darren sat on the kitchen floor and looked up at her. "You don't know?"
(Back)
Tara raised her eyebrow. "What are you doing?"
“Sitting on the floor. What’re you doing?”
"Trying not to laugh." Tara answered, biting back a laugh. "Why are you sitting on the floor?"
“Heck of a lot more fun than standing on the floor wouldn’t you say?”
Tara gave up, dissolving into giggles.
Darren chuckled and leaned against the cabinet.
Tara took a deep breath and stopped laughing. She sighed and sat down beside Darren.
Darren put his head on her shoulder and sighed peacefully… then his phone rang again. He groaned and screamed internally as he shuffled to the living room and answered his phone.
