“I’m coming, I’m coming.” Jasper stumbled out of bed and practically fell on Lukie. “Why am I so tired?” he asked.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” Jasper stumbled out of bed and practically fell on Lukie. “Why am I so tired?” he asked.
Lukie hummed. “You stayed up late doing that project I told you not to stay up late doing. It wasn’t due until Friday. Now look.”
“Oh yeah I did.” Jasper looked around. “What am I looking for?” he asked.
“Clothes and a shower, dear.” Lukie smiled and pecked Jasper on the cheek.
“Oh yeah. I’m good I swear.” He pulled clothes out of his drawers and went into the shower. About 7 minutes later he came out dressed and with wet hair. “I’m awake now,” he announced.
Lukie hummed from the kitchen. “Good. Now sit down and eat.”
“You are the mother I never had,” he declared dramatically, sitting down. Maybe he wasn’t entirely awake.
Lukie tapped his head with a spatula. “I’m the boyfriend you’ve never had.
Jasper beamed at him. “Oh yeah. Apparently I can not get a boyfriend without summoning one from the depths of hell.” He reached for his arm. “Not that I’m complianing or would change anything. And technically, I didn’t summon you to be my boyfriend. That part just happened.”
“Nope, you’d never have a chance. Other mortal boyfriends wouldn’t protect you like I would.”
Jasper slumped his head down on the table. “Yeah screw them,” he said, his voice muffled.
Lukie drifted over. “Come on, eaaaaat.” He tapped him with the spatula again.
“Okay, okay.” He lifted his head up and took a tentative bite. He looked at Lukie in surprise. “This is really good! You did a good job!” he said.
Lukie fluffed himself out. “Thank you, Jasper. I tried very hard.”
"Well, it paid off babe." Through the fog in his mind, he hadn't even realized he hadn't called Lukie any pet names before. He nonchalantly took another bite and reached blindly for Lukie.
Lukie drifted over. “What? I’m busy.” He was busy trying to take off his apron the wrong way.
"Uh yeah, I can see that." Jasper stood up and gently pulled the apron off over Lukie's head. He held it in his hand and was about to pull away but got lost in Lukie's eyes.
Lukie blinked a couple times as their gazes met. Lukie clearly wasn’t expecting that to happen but didn’t protest, just stared.
Jasper started. He could feel his heart starting to pound. "When–when did you say my mom was getting home?" he asked.
“She went out sometime last night. So probably the entire day, as usual.” Lukie kept a straight face, resisting the urge to smirk.
"Huh. She does this a lot," he murmured stepping closer to Lukie until they were practically touching.
Lukie stayed in his place, resisting (another) urge to put his hands on the other’s waist.
“She sure does.”
Jasper brought his hand up to Lukie's face. "Yeah," he murmured and leaned his face towards Lukie's till he could feel the breath from Lukie's nose. He stared into his eyes.
Lukie felt his breath catch in his throat. What is he doing?
Lukie gazed back at Jasper, waiting for the other’s move.
Jasper leaned forward and kissed Lukie's nose, then pressed his forehead to his own. "Hello," he breathed, grabbing Lukie's hand.
