She noticed, but didn’t say anything. Instead she just kissed him back, pretending not to have heard.
He placed his hands on her waist, gently kissing her. As he did, he pressed yet against the counter to close the gap between them, happy to have her back in his arms.
Fern didn’t even complain about not being able to get more pizza. This was so much better. A thought occurred to her suddenly. How much school was left? How long until Maple or Tyler got home? She tried to forget that thought, but it kept creeping back.
He could feel her hesitation pulling her away. He pulled away before she could, concern filling his face. "What's up?" He could see something was off.
“What time is it?” She asked. “I don’t want my siblings or my parents walking in on us. My parents would kill me for having a boy in the house without them knowing and my siblings are such tattle tales.”
"Uhhhhh-" He took hi phone out of his pocket "Five minutes till school is out…"
“Oh,” she sighed. “I don’t want you to leave, but if my family sees you…” she trailed off nervously, biting her lip. “This feels dumb, I shouldn’t be worried about this. It’s not the end of the world or anything.”
"I can leave if you'd like." In all honesty, he didn't want to, but he understood. The day's events came to his head. "Oh yeah, I have our of school suspension for a few days…"
“For the fire alarm?” She asked, trying not to smirk. “We should definitely do this again though. One last kiss before you go?”
The suspension and the fine. He laughed a little, trying to push the thought away from his mind. "Hmm…" He pretended to think for a moment, tapping his chin with his index finger. "Maybe…"
“Maybe? Come on,” she complained, trying not to laugh. “Just one more.” She looked into his eyes, pulling gently on his collar.
He looked down to her and smiled, his "thinking face" shattering. The tug on his collar brought his face closer to hers and he closed the gap, lips on hers.
She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck like she had earlier. She closed her eyes and just enjoyed the moment, feeling as if her nerve endings had turned electric.
He put his hands on her hips, bringing her as close as fate would let them. He could feel the spark of the moment in every part of him, his heart threatening to rupture. And in that moment, he knew he didn't want to leave the moment.
She continued to kiss him until she heard the front door open. She felt like Cinderella at midnight. “Hello?” Tyler called, and she heard his footsteps. “Fern, you home already?” Fern broke the kiss, glancing towards the front door with anxiety. “I’m sorry,” she whispered to Zavian.
"It's okay." He gave her one last smile before looking around, searching for an exit. He saw a window big enough for him to fit through. He began to climb up and through it, glanced to her one last time, blowing her a kiss, and landing outside quietly.
She watched him go, pretending to catch the kiss and then going to talk to Tyler.
//time skip?
(Sure, to where?)
Umm idk maybe when he gets back suspension or something?//
(Kk, ooooOOO and maybe Jay'll cone back the same day and be pushing her around and Zave's like "bro" and then like "bro" and then "bro" sorry frazzlement of the brain has occurred)
Lol ok I like it, you mind starting?//
(Oh my gosssshhhh!! I guess it crashed when I sent it!!! Sorry)
Zavian walked into class as the bell rang, earlier than usual, his friends dragging in behind him. That included Jay who had told Zavian he had been sick that day he pulled the alarm. They all laughed about it, unaware of what became of the alarm. He saw Fern from across the room and everything inside of him urged him to walk to her, but he held back, Jay right beside him.
It’s totally fine haha//
Fern noticed Zavian walk in, and forced herself not to smile. Instead she glared, because it was really the only way to not break into a grin (trying to keep a straight face was out of the question). It took everything in her power to look away and talk to her friends.
Jay had seen her glare, pushing Zavian a little to make him notice. He had seen it, but he knew it was just his cover- just like his smirk. And then, Jay did something. He walked up to Fern. "I heard you and Zavian had a little thing right before the 'drill.'" He heard.
