( Sighs, I want someone to notice Alex.)

//have Alex make herself noticeable then, no one’s going to care if someone’s just sitting in a tree looking sad
( Sighs, I want someone to notice Alex.)
(Maddie is extremely aware of all the people in her 'party', but the way this party works is that she lets people make their own choices. She might just nudges them along in the direction she kind of wants to. But she won't out right pull someone out of the shadows.)
(Thats cool.)
Alex looked down at the table of foods. She wasn't exactly dressed for a masquerade, with a black leather jacket and a little white dress though. She stayed there for a little before deciding to come down the tree for a little snack.
Maddie pulled out her pocket watch to check the time, Either he is hiding or late. She snapped it closed and put it back in her pocket. She wander a little ways away from the group she was talking to and pulled out a small book from the inside of her jacket and started to leaf though it.
( Oh god, what did I miss so far? xD )
( can we get a list of upcoming ships over here?)
"Hello, Maddie." Oliver called out, sitting on a branch in one of the trees near the edge of the party. He swung his legs back and forth, a lazy grin on his lips as he shuffled the cards in his hands. He was wearing a mask covered in different styled joker cards as he peered over his friend's shoulder towards the book she was writing in. Hm, what is she writing about today. . . Oliver glanced up, studying the new faces. "Is it tea time yet?"
"You should know better then to use names in the Madness court, old friend," She turned her head to look at him, "But it's not like anyone else has eyes like mine. As for tea according to my watch it's five till."
Alex rolled her eyes at the interaction. I don't even like tea. She thought to herself as she put a jelly cookie in her mouth. Maybe I should leave, I mean whats the point. She thought again.
"You should know better then to use names in the Madness court, old friend," She turned her head to look at him, "But it's not like anyone else has eyes like mine. As for tea according to my watch it's five till."
"Of course, of course." Oliver sighed, pushing himself off of the branch and landing next to Maddie. He waved his hands over the deck of cards in his hands and they disappeared, reappearing snugly into his back pocket. "Anyone new?"
"A few returning costumers, they around somewhere, there are even a few other wonderland residents in the mix," Maddie smiled and put the book back into her pocket. "But in general anyone who comes to these things are new, people rarely get multiple invitations."
Thanatos observed the party goers lazily, Chelsea had walked off some time ago to get food and talk with some of the other attendees. Boredom began to seep back into his mind and he contemplated leaving. Maybe he could convince father to allow him to participate in the next event in the hall of judgement, or even to help with torturing the evils of the world in the fields of punishment. The party was fun but it had began to become stale and repetative.
"A few returning costumers, they around somewhere, there are even a few other wonderland residents in the mix," Maddie smiled and put the book back into her pocket. "But in general anyone who comes to these things is new, people rarely get multiple invitations."
"Why don't we have a little. . . fun?" Oliver proposed, flashing a crooked grin. He adjusted his mask and blew strands of dark hair out of his face. "I'm sure the guests would appreciate that."
"And do you have a plan for this fun ?" she asked wile matching his smile. "But you're right if nothing strange happens we might lose some credibility. So what did you have in mind?"
Kneeling down Thanatos scratched Cerberus behind his ears changing back and forth between all three pairs. He felt himself wanting to leave but some primordial instinct inside him told him to stay and observe.
( Hm, I'm gonna give Oliver a magical deck of cards xD )
"Watch, sweetheart," Oliver replied, winking at Maddie as he popped the top hat off her head and slipped it onto his own. He tugged it down, shadowing part of his face as he grabbed his deck of cards and walked towards a table. Oliver stepped onto a chair and in a few moments was on one of the wooden surfaces. "Good morning, evening, or mid-day, lady and gents! Can I have a volunteer up here?" He called out, motioning towards his cards.
he knows I hate it when he takes my hat She thought to herself, Made him one a year ago and yet he insists on taking mine. Maddie smiled, but this should me good, he's loves putting on a show as much as I do.
"How about you, gentleman?" Oliver called out again, pointing towards a young man petting a three-headed dog. "Would you like to participate in some card tricks?" He grinned, his faded green eyes lighting up under his mask. Oliver glanced over at Maddie and blew a kiss, grateful that she didn't yell at him for taking her hat yet.
Thanatos was shaken out of his revelry by someone jumping up onto a table.
"Good morning, evening, or mid-day, lady and gents! Can I have a volunteer up here?" He called out, making a proper show of moving about and looking into the crowd until his eyes rested on Thanatos. "How about you, gentleman?" he questioned pointing directly at Thanatos, "Would you like to participate in some card tricks?" he crooned, mischief evident in his green eyes.
"Gladly" Thanatos remarked, making his way up to the person until he reached the foot of the table that he was standing on.
"Wonderful!" Oliver exclaimed, kneeling down so that they were the same height. He shuffled through his cards nimbly, and in a few moments, they were laid out across the palms of his hands. "Pick a card please."
Thanatos examined the cards as well as the one who held them. He picked a card from the deck keeping it faced away from Oliver.
Maddie sat back in the chair and crossed her legs contently waiting for the show to start. I not sure what game he is playing, but I can't wait to see it she thought to herself, Beside its about time to get the festivities underway, anyways.
"Got it? Good." Oliver said quickly, not waiting for an answer before he gently slid the card out of the young man's hand and slipped it back into the pile. After a few quick motions, a card resurfaced, the same one that was in Thanatos' hand. "Is this your card?"
"Yes, yes it is" he answered monotonously. Was this really it, a basic party trick? Quite the let down.
