Aurelius laughed.
"Well, then. You guys are few and far between. We usually end up chasing most people off ourselves. But since you're here, you got any intel? Any potential threats you've seen around here?"
He paused for a second, as his mind had wandered and he was forgetting things as soon as they crossed his mind.
"Oh. Right. Quincy. She's here, but to be safe, I insist that I accompany you to where she is. Not to be overly distrustful, but that's probably for the best."
James perked up when the other man had said Quincy was here. He quickly answered the first two questions, "I've seen something, but I'm not sure what to make of it yet. Also please do, I want to see her as soon as I can. I'm James by the way. Just realized I never introduced myself to you."
"I'm Aurelius. Pleased to meet you."
He looked back over his shoulder to Mara.
"You can come with us or stay here. It's up to you, really. I don't expect I'll be too long."
"I think I'll stay and clean up. I'm Mara by the way." She gave him a smile. Mara didn't want to be a bother, plus it would sti take a whe to clean and make this place home.
James nodded and gave her a wave, "Nice to meet both of you. Are we free to go now?"
"I'll see you soon," Aurelius said. He started out the door, followed by Nox. "Let's be on our way, then."
James followed after and River stood up quickly. The dragon saw the excitement in James's movements, "We found her?"
James nodded back to his dragon a slight smile on his face. More than his usual amount of emotion.
Trying to make small talk to make up for his initial hostility, Aurelius asked, "So where all have you traveled? I've read about many a place, but I haven't been so far from here."
"It feels like I've been everywhere," James responded earnestly, "To the mountains in the north and the deserts of the east. Not a lot of places I haven't been, but I don't think I've seen them all at this point. I missed this place even though my hometown is in the same region. Much further away, thank god, but still in a similar geological terrain."
"I don't believe I've left the region before. The only major cities I've been to are Fjellsted and Pontus. Have you been to either of those?" Aurelius asked as he continued towards Quincy's house.
[For reference, Fjellsted is Valkyrie's hometown and a fairly stereotypical medieval feudal kingdom. Pontus is a busy port town due east of the village.]
(Can I have Robin bump into the small group while on her way back?)
"Yeah," James let out a slight sigh, "I tend to avoid the larger cities, but Pontus is okay by my standards."
"I rather like it there. Fjellsted, on the other hand? Absolutely barbaric. Wouldn't go back ever. I'm also kind of banned from the city, but like I said, it's not like I want to go back," Aurelius said.
"I don't disagree with you there," James snorted looking around the village, "Does Quincy live near here?"
Quincy had made it back home and she was resting now with Jade in the house.
"Right here," Aurelius said, halting in front of Quincy's house.
He went up and knocked on the door, hoping she was home.
Robin laughed at Isolde's disgusted look at stepping in wet clay. She turned the corner and saw two males and two dragons. "Hello!" She called
Aurelius turned from the door and waved at Robin, a soft smile on his face. He shifted on his feet, still waiting for Quincy.
Quincy let out a long sigh and opened up the door for whoever was knocking at it. She looked out and saw Aurelius and then she saw… "James?"
"Quincy," James smiled and pulled the smaller sibling into a hug, "It's been way too long."
Quincy grinned and hugged her brother back, "It has. But what are you doing here?"
"It's a long story" James laughed, "I'll tell it to you soon."
Aurelius let out a sigh of relief when he saw that Quincy did indeed recognize James, and in a good way. He stood aside as the two hugged and awkwardly crossed his arms. He didn't want to intrude too much on their reunion.
Robin walked over to Aurelius "hello! Nice day osnt it?" She asked
"Yeah," he agreed, backing away from the door a bit more, "It's been good to see you out and about in the village a bit more lately. I haven't had much of a chance to talk to you still, though."
"Anything important?" She asked curiously as Isolde padded alongside her.
Aurelius motioned towards the doorway of Quincy's house.
"Quincy's brother is here. Quite unexpectedly, though," he said, "Oh, and have you met our new resident?"
"I see her brother, but I havent seen the new resident. Who is it?" She asked curiously
