"Maybe so. That's the only reason I could think of. At least, I feel like that might be my sole purpose now: to make sure nothing happens to you guys like it did to everyone I knew," Pollux sighed, "Gods, this is heavy stuff. No wonder I never really stopped to think about it before."
“Yeah,” Quincy let out a long sigh, “It really is once you stop and think… Is there anything else you want to know before head out to our probable doom?”
(Takes this moment casually remind everyone, Qunicy is trans and not in her mental body. AKA she’s still a biological dude.)
(Yeah, idk how to bring that up in interactions tbh, if that's what you're suggesting?)
(Nah, I just feel like it gets forgotten lol.)
(I gotcha. I didn't forget though. Also I'm seriously considering adding a character or two who isn't cis to the actual story, because I have the opportunity to create a place where people aren't hated for who they love or what they identify as, so why wouldn't I? There are hecking dragons, so I don't think acceptance of genders and sexualities is out of the question. I'm just afraid of writing them incorrectly, such as not getting the point across that they aren't cis. I'm not so worried about making that their only character trait because characterization/personality is what I do best.)
"I'm not sure. I'll probably get to know you with time. And I'll make sure we get that time. You say probable doom? I say, if things go wrong, I'll make sure everyone pulls through. But yeah, anything I should know about you? We're a team. We're kind of stuck with each other now. I might as well figure out what makes each of you tick."
Pollux had been looking at Quincy, but then turned some attention to his forearm, which was bandaged still. He tugged at the edge to loosen it; it had been pulled so tight that his circulation was slightly cut off.
(Oof yeah I feel you though with the whole write them wrong thing.)
Quincy watched him, but shrugged smiling, “I guess that’s one way of looking at it all. Our lives our in your capable hands now after all.”
“Hopefully I’m capable enough… I’ll sure as hell try.”
He kind of sighed a bit and looked down the length of both arms.
“It’s kind of shallow, I know, but I’ve been wondering to myself if all these scars will ever go away. The physical ones, I mean. Guess it’s kind of early because the wounds still hurt, but still.”
“Some scars never really go away,”Quincy sighed, “But I’m sure most of them will fade with time.”
“True, true. Oh, yeah. Off topic, but do you mind if I ride with you on this mission? I don’t exactly have a dragon to bring along,” Pollux asked.
"Yeah, of course!" Quincy responded happily, "You can ride with me whenever you need to."
"Thanks," Pollux said, "I feel like a little bit of a deadweight when it comes to transportation. Good to know all of you are so willing to help. Hopefully I can find another dragon to ride for some time, even if it ends up being a temporary alliance."
Oliver has been training non stop, these past two days. And since Mara wasn't here Riven has been helping. They have the working together to use the body and switching back and forth, but the abilities he has, has been harder to find out. All he has found out so far is that he can see like his dragon, which was more heat-sensing then anything else so that would be useful, he hoped.
Pollux was still standing with Quincy, but when he saw Oliver, he made sure to ask, "Hey, are you ready to go? I think Aurelius is trying to get us to push on out of here."
Oliver looked up at the sky and noticed it was morning. "Shoot I wasn't paying attention at all. Vey and Oliver were merged so he had one blue eye and one black eye. He ran inside and started to pack as quickly as he could. "I'm almost ready I swear!"

Quincy laughed at Oliver's sudden and rapid movements. She turned to Pollux, "I'm sure you'll find one soon. Dragons can be finicky creatures though, trust me."
"I'm ready!" Oliver yelled making sure everyone heard. He swung his backpack on and hopped on Riven's back. He decided since Mara isn't here he would take care of Riven and make sure he didn't do anything crazy. What's the plan? Vey said through Oliver's mouth. They both figured out that Vey couldn't talk unless he was in a human body, which Oliver found weird.
"Yeah, uh… maybe. I'm not looking for another lifelong partner right now- just someone who will get me through these times."
He started to walk towards the cave's mouth, beckoning for the others to follow.
"You might want to ask Aurelius. He's outside already, I think. Seems spying is what we're doing, but he hasn't breathed a word to me about where we're going."
Valkyrie had finally returned from burning down the library. She was unscathed, but did have a few streaks of soot on her clothes and skin.
"It is done," she said, "No one inside escaped."
She felt something sort of twist inside her chest. Killing felt… horrible. But there was no other way she could think of that would help her reach her goals.
Quincy nodded and started out Jade following close behind her, "Of course. Spying huh, this'll be interesting,"
"None of us were trained for this," Pollux muttered, "Interesting is one word for it."
"Worrying could be another," Quincy added on, "Or exciting."
"All of them," Pollux agreed, "Dangerous was the first one I thought of, but I think we'll be okay, as long as we're cautious and communicate well."
"Knowing us, that's not going to happen," Quincy said with a slight laugh.
"That's… concerning…" Pollux said softly, "I'm going to go and kick that punk Aurelius' ass if he doesn't get his stuff together. He seems to constantly assert himself as leader, and yet he's so scatterbrained and bad at telling people what to do… The boy's nice enough, I guess… Can't be good at everything, now can he?"
