"Th-They…" She paused for a second. "They threw rocks at me. Sharp, grey rocks. They…" She stopped again, beginning to shake again.
"Th-They…" She paused for a second. "They threw rocks at me. Sharp, grey rocks. They…" She stopped again, beginning to shake again.
"Hey, hey. It's alright, you don't have to keep going."
"No! I want to tell you." She looked helpless behind her own eyes, trapped and helpless. "The rocks cut me. On my legs, on my arms…" She broke off into tears.
"Reese, Reese it's okay. I-I get it. I do." She hugged her close, hating that there was nothing she could do.
Reese sobbed, but she continued. "There was blood on my socks!"
"Shh, shhh. Reese, you don't have to."
"It hurt!" she cried, burying her face in A's shoulder.
"I know. I know." She started to hum again, tracing circles on Reese's back.
Reese's breathing slowly levelled out.
"Let's not talk about that anymore."
"Okay…"
"Would you ever want to go on Fixer Upper? I think it' be kinda cool."
Reese nodded into A's shoulder. "Yeah," she said in a muffled voice.
"Where would you want to live though? I almost want to say a big city, but then I feel like that might get old." She mused, still tracing circles.
"Urban," she answered.
"Hm. I might be able deal with it, if I had you by my side."
Reese blushed hotly. "Uh, y-yeah."
"Would you live in the city with me, Reese?"
"I would try," she replied firmly. Cities weren't her favorite, but she felt that she could with A.
"I'll become a successful lawyer, make a lot of money, and we can get an apartment on a high floor. We can sit out on the fire escape at night with hot chocolate, and try to see the stars." She said, voice soft.
Reese kissed her neck gently. "That sounds absolutely incredible…"
A.'s cheeks reddened. "R-really? You'd be down with that?"
"Of course," she said softly. "I'll be with you, won't I?"
"I'm supposed to be the romantic one." She said, obviously not minding at all.
"We can't both be romantic?" Reese asked, sounding a little disappointed. It was a teasing tone.
