"Are you sure? You don't have to."
"Are you sure? You don't have to."
"Yes! Victory or death!"
Reese looked alarmed. "Uh…"
"It's from a t.v. show. So, is there an answer to my question?"
"The answer is no," she replied quietly.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes. I don't want you to be upset."
A. laughed, kneeling in front of Reese and resting her forearms on the other girl's knees. "I just get too worked up over games. There's a reason my team banned game nights from team bonding days."
Reese hesitantly smiled. "Oh, sorry…"
"Nah, I can see how it would be disconcerting. If you want to stop playing, we can."
She nodded. "Okay. Do you want to know what it was, or not?"
"Of course I do. I wanna know what thing was so hard to figure out."
"The beach."
"Oh my god. It was a place?"
"Yeah."
"I can't believe this." She groaned, flopping her head down on Reese's legs.
Reese bit her lip to subdue her smile. "It was fun."
"For you maybe. I don't think I can ever go to the fucking beach again without having flashbacks." Her voice was muffled by the other girl's jeans, but there was laughter in it.
She looked from the card to him. "Where are you going?" she asked, looking around for a bus or car, or something he was going to ride.
Blaze put his back pack on and faced her. "I'm going to get some food. But call me if you choose to go so I can drive you there."
(I wanna do a timeskip to when they're getting ready to go, or not go if Bridget doesn't want to.)
Reese blushed and bit her lip. "Sorry." Crap.
(Alright.)
Bridget stared at the card in her hand that the boy – Blake – had given her. Just call. No! What are you doing?! Do it! She dialed the number and her thumb hesitated over the call button.
A.'s shoulders shook with laughter. "You ain't gotta apologize, sweetheart. I'm messin' with you."
Blaze had just put on his jacket and left his house, ready to go to the park when his phone rang. It was an unknown number so he picked it up and waited a few seconds before answering. "Hello? This is Blaze." He started while taking his keys out his pocket and putting it in his engine.
A.'s shoulders shook with laughter. "You ain't gotta apologize, sweetheart. I'm messin' with you."
Reese blushed. "Right."
"And what did I tell you about apologizing? You really gotta stop."
