Jason managed to widen the pinprick hole in the ceiling enough that he could stick his entire finger through it. He grinned at that, pleased with his progress, from here he could start using his hands instead of the helmet. It felt a bit undignified to be scratching at dirt and rock, but that was what the situation called for. This wasn't too bad in all honesty. Better than getting locked in a storage closet. He still shuddered when he saw cleaning supplies. Still, he'd learned rudimentary ways to open locked doors and that even if you yelled for help the teachers weren't likely to let you out. Arguably the more important lesson there.
Lost in his reminiscing, Jason didn't immediately notice Amelia's panic. He was feeling calm and collected, so why wouldn't everyone else in this situation? In fact, being locked in an earth dome had somehow managed to improve his mood from before. This was something he could take decisive actions to fix rather than sitting and sulking. Much better. Jason was just about to start cheerfully humming while he chipped away at the hole when he heard noises from the other resident of their impromptu prison.
He groaned. "What did I say about conserving air? How useless.." Jason trailed off after a moment. He liked mocking other people, he really, truly did. But even he could see when he was punching down. He could make fun of the girl's intelligence all he wanted, because that was something within her power to control. But fear? The boy sighed, pausing just slightly at his digging.
"Don't gasp, try to take deep breaths instead." For a moment, he almost, almost didn't sound conceited. Then he got right back to work and did indeed decide to start humming, an obnoxiously bright tune that might have been on broadway.
He paused when he heard a voice outside, then the sound of banging. The person sounded significantly stronger than Jason felt, so he backed up and let them do the work, squinting slightly as the dome suddenly brightened. He noted the blue armor first and his annoyance returned in full force, he groaned dramatically.
"Gods please- I'd rather be trapped in the circle again." He glared viciously at the Nemesis girl after a moment. "How's this "plan" working out for you Veronica? And do believe me, I use the word plan very loosely. How about you go chase down the Red Team, since you've clearly thought this all through!" Jason was shouting already, color coming to his face as he moved his hands for emphasis. He wasn't particularly large or intimidating, but he didn't shy away from conflicts, pain was just mental. If that was the worst a person could do to him, he wasn't particularly impressed. He got up close in the girl's face, trying to provoke a reaction, poking her chest.
"Go run and play, the big kids are trying to have a conversation."
