The librarian didn't seem to mind or notice that the two of them had fallen fast asleep, letting them stay there against each other.

Jay kept sleeping, leaning against Delia slightly. At their feet, Leo twitched and squirmed.
As she was sleeping, she shifted around a little, her head falling forward on his shoulder and becoming close to falling and resting on his legs.
Jay shifted a little, arm moving slightly to rest around her. He kept sleeping. Leo shifted and rolled over.
(hehe maybe this'll get something going)
For the next long while, Delila slept peacefully and silently against Jay's shoulder, only jerking awake as a sudden alarm sounded. It was loud and blaring, accompanied by the occasional flash of a bright red light outside the library in the hallway.
(haha o boy lol)
Jay snapped awake, on his feet in seconds as his book fell to the floor. His blue eyes flicked around for a moment, trying to determine what was happening.
(hehehe)
Delia was already trying to scramble to her feet as well, though getting her crutches going and trying to get up was proving quite difficult. It didn't seem like any kind of drill and the librarian seemed panicked though calm, standing up and shuffling towards the door as he motioned for them to come along too. "All soldiers and military personnel, report to your stations. Civilians, head to the designated safe areas," A loud voice came over the speakers, "This is not a drill, I repeat, report to your locations, this is not a drill."
Jay picked Leo up. "Come on." he said softly to Delia, eyes narrowed slightly and lips set in a thin line. "We should get going."
"Getting there," She mumbled with a yawn, finally getting to her feet and heading to the door.
"Follow me," The librarian said, his voice showing there was no argument as he opened the door and shuffled out, staying clear of the soldiers now jogging down the halls.
Delia looked at Jay, following him out of the library and towards wherever this safe space was. A million scenarios played out in her head as to what could be happening and she just wished she had her backpack with her.
Jay held Leo securely, making the squirming, sleepy puppy couldn't escape, and stayed beside Delia as they followed the librarian.
"What do you think is happening?" She asked Jay, her eyes flicking around nervously as they followed the librarian down to a set of stairs crowded with other people as they all tried to get down to the lower level.
Jay shook his head. "I don't know." he replied softly.
Delia looked up at him and stopped, grabbing his open hand and putting it on her shoulder before grabbing onto her crutch again. "So we don't get separated in this mess," She explained, already being jostled around as people headed down to the lower level.
Jay nodded. "Alright." He held onto her shoulder as they walked, keeping Leo securely in his other hand.
She continued forward until she reached the stairs, encountering the problem of getting down them somewhat quickly so she didn't fall. Delia started going down at her own pace, gritting her teeth as she continued to be bumped from the sides, the only thing keeping her relatively steady being Jay's hand.
Jay held onto her shoulder firmly, trying to steady her as best he could without dropping Leo. The puppy squirmed a little, growling when people came too close.
It took awhile but eventually she got down the stairs, following the crowd down the hallway. There were snippets of conversation going on all around her, all guesses as to what was happening. She heard everything from invasion of the base by aliens to another air raid with more advanced technology from the aliens.
Jay was quiet, listening to those around them and biting his lower lip. His eyes flicked around, and he wasn't sure what he would do if someone figured out what he was. That the aliens had taken him and turned him into something other than what he was.
Finally they stopped, not being able to get into one of the rooms branching off the hallway and instead having to copy others that were just finding a spot to claim in the hallway. Delia glanced back at Jay and stopped near a open spot against the wall, wanting to calm him down since he now looked even more nervous than she had earlier.
Jay took a deep breath, raking a hand through his hair. He shook his head a little bit, thinking. He didn't know what to do. Didn't know what to say. Nothing.
"Come sit down, It sounds like we'll be here a while," She eventually said, looking up at the panicking Jay reaching over to rest a hand gently on his shoulder, "I'm sure this'll be over fast and that it's just some overhead ships that are new and more advanced."
"Better be." Jay replied, taking another deep breath and forcing himself to calm down. "If it isn't…they'll kill me."
She glanced around to see if anyone had heard that before sitting down and patting the space of floor next to herself, "You know I won't let them do that."
Jay shrugged. "You won't get a choice. Hell, you'll get thrown in a cell for aiding and abetting."
"You'll be the one in the cell, I'll be the one taking your place," She replied, leaning her head back against the wall and listening to what everyone around her way saying to take her mind off of what could be happening. Soon it became eerily quiet as everyone settled in though, making it that much scarier when the sound of gunshots rang out from the floor above them.
