I have this couple in my main WIP and the guy dies in the books but I write short stories about them being married and having kids. And sometimes my brain thinks about their kids so much I forget that they actually never exist XD

Very. But his kids are so well developed and precious that I have to keep them alive in my head and write about them. And then I get super sad when I actually remember that Simon dies in the real story.
