Gray’s POV:
My eyes snapped open, widening. I pulled away from her hold, cupping her cheeks in my hands gently, looking into her eyes.
What? Did she just…?
“What… did you just say?” I asked her in a whisper, unable to believe my ears. Did she just tell me she was in love with me, or was it my ears playing a trick on me!
“I’m sorry…” I whispered, withdrawing back into myself. This was a mistake. I’d made some kind of awful mistake and—
“I know—it’s too early in our relationship—I’m sorry for—“
Gray’s POV:
I cut her off with a kiss, placing mine on hers softly for a few seconds before I pulled away.
“No, tell me again,” I whispered. “So that I know you said that and it’s not my mind playing tricks on me.”
It was a miracle that I hadn’t melted in his arms yet. It was also a miracle that he wasn’t pushing me away, that he was still holding me like I was the most precious thing in the world.
“I—I know it’s early, and I’m impulsive. But I think I might be in love with you.”
Gray’s POV:
I cradled her face in my hands gently, the corner of my mouth twisting upwards to form a smile. Within seconds, I was grinning like a total idiot, laughter bubbling through me.
“You’re serious, right?” I asked her excitedly, euphoria coursing through me. She said she was might be in love with me. She was falling in love with me. “Vy, tell me you’re being serious.”
“I——I think so. I really do. I just—Need to sort out my thoughts.”
The sight of him, so incredibly happy, prompted sweet, soft laughter to spill from my puffy lips. “You’re okay with that?”
Gray’s POV:
“Why wouldn’t I be?” I breathed out, her sweet, melodic laughter reaching my ears. I was ecstatic. I was beyond ecstatic. I dipped down to peck on the lips, and again and again all the while grinning madly. “Do you realize how happy that makes me? Can I swing you around?”
“Yes,” I breathed, a blissful, beyond happy grin taking over my expression. Yes.
The look on his face was enough to keep me going for ages. Forget food and water. All I needed was him.
Gray’s POV:
I carefully, and tightly, wrapped my arms around her before swinging her around, making sure I wouldn’t accidentally drop her or cause her to slip.
When I almost tripped, I set her down before bending and carefully picking her up in my arms before swinging around again, pulling her close to my chest.
“I feel like I’m in a movie—“
Laughter continued to bubble up from between my swollen lips, still coated in the taste of him. A strange weightlessness had taken a hold of me, making me feel like a bird, like a cloud.. God, I loved it. And maybe… I loved him too. Was it too early? Was I being weird?
Gray’s POV:
Her laughter was like music to my ears and I swear I could listen to it every day without getting tired of it.
Finally, I set her down and brought my lips down to hers, again, kissing her softly and gently, not giving her time to catch her breath.
“I love you,” I breathed against her lips. “Everything about you, I love like there’s no tomorrow. Your beautiful eyes, that hypnotic smile of yours, your melodic laughter, and every little imperfection of yours… I love all of them.”
My eyes were wide as saucers, flickering with unimaginable, almost heartbreaking hope, elation, joy. All because of him. “I think I might cry…..” I whispered, half laughing, half holding back a…. sob? I didn’t know anymore. “Oh my god….”
Gray’s POV:
I faltered, my eyes widening. I cupped her cheeks, my face twisted worriedly.
“What, why?” I rubbed her eyes, panic filling me. “Vy? Did I say something wrong? Please don’t cry. Vy?”
I laughed softly, going up on the tips of my toes to press a loving kiss to his lips. “From happiness. Or an overload of emotion. Good things.”
Gray’s POV:
I sighed in relief, returning her kiss with another.
“So I didn’t say anything wrong,” I said, satisfied with myself. “I’m happy, too. You’re amazing, Vy. I love you.”
I flushed a deep shade of pink, burying my face in his chest at the sound of those words.
“I—I love you too.” My voice was muffled by his shirt, barely audible.
Gray’s POV:
I wrapped my arms around her tightly, resting my chin on the top of her head.
“Thank you,” I murmured, her words making my heart melt into a puddle. “For loving me.”
I let out a soft, muffled sigh of absolute contentment, sinking into his arms. “Anytime..”
Gray’s POV:
“Ah, so glad it’s lunch…” I murmured, thinking about the way she fit perfectly into my arms, like she was always meant to. “Wait, you didn’t eat, right?”
I gave a small shake of my head, leaning my eyes fall shut again. “Can we go out together? Maybe with Eden and Sterling….. or maybe just us?”
Gray’s POV:
I took her last words as a silent invitation.
“Just us,” I said to her. “If they’re here, it gets hard to kiss you.”
My grin was exhilarated, eyes practically glowing with happiness. “Right, of course. Where do you want to eat?”
Gray’s POV:
I lightly brushed my lips against her forehead.
“Anywhere you want to,” I shrugged. “I’m happy eating what you want to eat.”
“You choose,” I prompted him, though I didn’t want to move. “Or…. we could go to my dorm, watch a movie, order pizza?”
Gray’s POV:
I picked her lips, smiling.
“Okay,” I nodded. “Let’s do that.”
