Technically there was a way, if Rafael was willing to become a supernatural- most likely a vampire, seeing who was making out with him. Who knows, he could even become a witch if he tried.
Arien held himself close to Rafael, tilting his head more and doing everything he could think of to make this kiss enjoyable for the both of them.
Eventually, Rafael pulled away, still with a big smile on his face. “Sorry, just need a breather. And yes I’m aware that this means I lost again.”
Arien grinned some when the first one to pull away was Rafael.
"Can I let you in on a secret?" he said softly. "I don't actually need to breath." Which meant he never had to pull away from a kiss first for that. He chuckled just a bit.
He looked surprised for a second before he laughed. “Of course! I should’ve known.” He smiled at the other.
"Mmmhmmm." Arien laughed in turn, giving Rafael a hug. He kissed the other lightly. This was much, much better in his opinion than before. He loved how they were now, he loved Rafael.
He smiled contently. He could get used to this. He desperately hoped that Arien wouldn’t break his heart, he didn’t know if he’d ever be able to recover.
Arien grinned some. He drew little circles in Rafael's chest, humming softly.
"I love you…"
“I love you more.” He mumbled back. He fell silent for a few seconds before thinking of something. “Wait a minute..” he sat up a bit. “So all it took for you to realize your feelings for me was to be publicly embarrassed and harassed by your friends about it??”
"I-It's not *that simple," Arien mumbled. "I've been thinking on it for a while on how to tell you…" Arien stayed resting against Rafael's chest, but he sat up as well when Rafael did.
“…Okay then…” having accepted that answer, he laid back down. “Just out of curiosity…why didn’t you tell me before now? Were you scared?”
"Ah…" Arien rested his head on Rafael's chest again. "A little," he admitted. Especially with what had happened earlier.
“Why?” He asked. He figured it was because of their fight the other day, though he almost hoped Arien would say otherwise.
"Mostly because of what happened the other day," Arien admitted. "I… wasn't sure if you'd take a confession well." Arien turned his head a bit, resting his face in the crook of Rafael's neck.
“I figured…but a confession was exactly what I wanted from you. It was selfish of me to just try and force you to tell me how you felt I was just…scared.”
"I-it's fine, really! At the time I just wasn't sure, but it was really soon after that that I figured everything out…" Arien was quiet a moment.
"How long did you know you loved me?" He finally asked.
“I don’t know….awhile now. It was just small at first, and I think I was kind of trying to ignore it at first just because it was so complicated.”
Arien nodded a bit.
"Yeah, it really had been, hasn't it…" Arien smiled just a bit. He wouldn't have it any other way.
“Mhm..” he pulled Arien closer to him, resting his head on his shoulder. “Mmm…comfy…” he mumbled.
Arien smiled a bit, going himself close.
"Yeah…"
He let out a small sigh of contentment, burying his face in Arien’s shirt, breathing in his scent.
Arien wrapped his arms a bit more around Rafael, kissing the top of his head.
"I love you…" Arien felt like the more he said it, the more grounded he was- it was real, this was real.
“I love you too…” he said softly, and he still couldn’t help but smile every time. He’d never thought he’d actually be able to say that to Arien.
Arien smiled a bit, resting his head in Rafael's hair. It was so nice, snuggling like this. Arien was fully relaxed, smiling some.
“I might actually fall asleep now….you’re so comfy.” He mumbled, chuckling softly as he said that.
Arien chuckled a bit as well.
"Go on ahead," he said softly. He rested his cheek against Rafael's, smiling still.
