Arien glanced over, then started rummaging through the clothes. Finally, he pulled out or a simple outfit of dress pants and a white dress shirt.
"Here," he said, tossing them onto the bed next to Rafael. "First impressions are important."
“Exactly. Which is why I had you choose for me. I trust your judgement much more than mine, even under normal circumstances.” He sat up, only fumbling for a second before he found the clothes.
"I'm glad you trust me that much, then." Arien moved over to lightly pat Rafael's shoulder.
"I'm leave you to it, then." He couldn't imagine himself helping Rafael dress, not like that.
He smiled when Arien patted his shoulder. “M’kay, I should only be a few minutes. I’ll come find you when I’m done.”
"I'm be in my room, then." Arien left, closing the door behind him. He needed to get dressed too, after all.
Rafael was still smiling as Arien left the room. He let out a lovesick sigh. “God I’m an idiot..” he muttered. He hadn’t just fallen for Arien, it was more like he’d tumbled down an entire flight of stairs. There was no way out now, these feelings had apparently decided to stick with him. And then he remembered they had places to be. Snapping out of his daydreaming, he quickly began to get dressed. The pants were easy, the shirt was a whole different story. After at least five minutes, he managed to get it buttoned up correctly and stepped outside of his room. “Arien?” He called. “Are you ready?”
Arien hadn't taken near as long- no daydreaming, and he hadn't fumbled with his shirt.
"I'm ready," he said. He walked over, smiling softly.
“Sorry it took me so long.” He said sheepishly, carefully walking over towards the other. “So where are we headed?” He asked.
"No no, it's fine!" Arien took Rafael's hand in his own.
"We're headed out of town, actually. I contacted my friends, and they agreed to meet up in a small cafe."
He nodded. “Well, go ahead and lead the way.” He said with a charming smile, gently squeezing Arien’s hand.
Arien nodded some. He walked side by side with Rafael, smiling.
"This will be fun," he said, bringing Rafael out of the house with him.
He nodded in agreement. “I certainly hope so. Your friends seem like they might actually be cool if they weren’t trying to kill me.”
"I can agree." Arien chuckled some, but then he fell a bit serious.
"Are you alright with seeing Dain again..?" The one who'd tried to eat him.
“Oh yeah I mean he was actually pretty chill once Elliot found the need to tell him I was yours.” He said with a small shrug. So far it was really only Elliot that he despised.
"Okay, good. He is a really nice dude." Arien smiled some. He was walking calmly with Rafael down the street, humming a bit.
"I must warn you, though- you'll probably have to earn Bruno's trust. He's not very good with strangers."
He nodded. “That’s fine. It’ll be best to meet this way for all of us I believe.” As long as he wouldn’t get taken by any of Arien’s friends again, he’d be fine.
"I do too." Arien continued to lead Rafael down the road. Thankfully, they were ina suburb, so heading out of city limits wasn't long at all.
Rafael fell silent, just enjoying walking with Arien and the sounds of the night. He felt so much at peace right now.
Arien lightly rested his head on Rafael's shoulder as they walked, smiling. Honestly, he wouldn't mind doing this, just walk with Rafael at night.
"We're almost there," he finally said.
“Okay.” He said, disappointed that their time together was coming to an end. He breathed in and out deeply to relax himself.
Arien gave Rafael's hand a gentle squeeze. He led the man into a small cafe, as promised. He seemed to have a thing for homey places, because this place was just as calming as the healer's had been.
Rafael was able to tell, and it definitely helped him relax a bit as they made their way to their table.
Arien had helped Rafael sit down when the vampire was tackled from the back.
"Jesus!" Arien said, laughing a bit. "Bruno, could you please not be so rough?"
Rafael jumped a bit, having been too stressed out to hear the other’s approach. After realizing it was just one of Arien’s friends, he relaxed significantly.
Bruno, the werewolf, sta up, getting off Rafael.
"But- it's so much fun!" The man laughed a bit. Arien sat down next to Rafael, taking his hand in his own.
