CHAPTER 4

(Alright, I'm up!)

Brad and Collins has talked once Collins was up. It was a rather long, awkward conversation, but it was discussed. The next day had come, and Brad was in a little bit of a better mood. Though he still felt rather empty. Empty because he knew Caroline wasn't going to talk to him today. Probably ignore him, and avoid him. So He took in a deep breath, preparing for the day ahead.

Caroline I made up with Calum he had come over and spend the night and they talked about it the two walked into school holding hands with their fingers laced like they usually did when they walk together

Brad glanced at Caroline, and his heart dropped. Had she already moved on? On to a different relationship? Is that why Calum had been so upset? Brad couldn't stand looking at the two, and stormed off. It was one thing to break up, and slowly progress getting over it, but when the girl you had literally just broken up with went off and got a boyfriend, that was kinda difficult to cope with. Brad continued running off, past the English classroom. He wasn't about to sit in a 45 minute class watching the back of Caroline's head. He'd rather take detention. So he went on, and headed to the back door, leaving the school.

Caroline saw Brad she apologized to Calum and she ran after Brad she called after him once she left the building " Brad!" She yelled

Brad ignored her, rather sour towards her. His decent mood smushed into the ashes. He walked out across the football field, not caring if he screwed it up. He just wanted to get out of this retched place and not be followed. But where could he go? The only place he could go was to his gang, that's the only place he wouldn't be followed to his knowledge. But he didn't really want to go there.

Caroline chased after him "brad that wasn't what it looked like" she said

"Sure thing sweetheart." He called back spitefully. He didn't want to hear it, any of it. "Just go back to your new boyfriend, maybe you won't break his heart." He was feeling cold, and hatred fill him to the brim, some tipping out the side.

"what? Calum is not my boyfriend he has a girlfriend we just made up last night I don't know if you've ever noticed before but we used to always walk in the school holding hands." She said

"Yeah right. I never cared before I actually stopped to pay attention to you. Maybe I shouldn't have." He muttered, trying to make sure she didn't see his face. Tears streaming down and he couldn't stop them.

Her heart stopped " if you don't want to be with me anymore fine don't you ever forget Brad Hoax I love you with all my heart" she said tears streaming down her own face

He turned to look at her, his own heart speeding up. "I thought you were done with me." He whispered, looking down to the ground. "Why else would you keep saying it?"

" because it's just a matter of time until you realize I'm not what you want I was never what you wanted I was just a distraction and then you'll leave like everybody else" she said

"But I don't want to leave, I want you, here, in my arms. But that can't be, because of you. You said it was a mistake. You said it wasn't worth losing our friendships over." He cried, starting to break down. "Relationships work that way Caroline, we date, we breakup, we move on. That's how I was told it works. But I wasn't even able to get the chance for step one. Maybe we could've made it, but you didn't even give me that chance."

She didn't say anything she just looked at the ground and she left the blood from her Palm drip onto the grass

He walked up to her, putting a finger under her chin. "You wanted this, and if you don't anymore, I'm giving you the chance to say so." He whispered looking into her eyes.

Tears streamed down her cheeks and she used her hand wipe them away getting blood on her cheek

He took his thumb, gently wiping away the tears. "I'm giving you a chance here, are you not going to take it?" He asked tenderly, glancing at her lips, longing to kiss her.

"I love you Brad I do I really do and I want you to be happy even… Even if it's not with me" she said

"But I'll only be happy with you," He frowned, still rubbing her cheek gently. "All the other girls, they expect me to meet their overly high expectations I've set for myself, you don't seem to expect anything from me."

She shook her head "no I love everything about you I don't need anything more from you" she said
