She sighed, setting her sake down.
"My name is Hinata Hayashi, Balance-Keeper of the multiverse, and I just got done fighting the worst threat to everything: The Shadow Master."
She sighed, setting her sake down.
"My name is Hinata Hayashi, Balance-Keeper of the multiverse, and I just got done fighting the worst threat to everything: The Shadow Master."
Ariene looked over, the top of her head lightly brushing the ceiling. Her auburn hair piled into a raggedy braid, she looked on eagerly.
"Let's just say… balance won. Barely. Of course, it didn't help that he turned out to be my boyfriend." Hinata shrugged.
"Life sucks like that. Being around as long as I have teaches you that."
Ariene smiled awkwardly in her lesbian way, then turned around. "I have a story. But only if you've got anymore sparkling lemonade," she asked, summoning her yellow crystal armor around her closed fist.
Hinata turned to look at Ariene, happy not to have to explain more. She was depressed as it was.
Calix got up and walked over to the bar and sat down in one of the stools.
The barkeeper pours more sparkling lemonade into the tall ones glass. She then turns to address Hinata. “That’s rough, but I think we’ve all been in similar circumstances.” She turns back to the Ariene. “You promised us a story?”
“Would the newcomer like anything to drink as well.” She says to the man sitting on the end stool slumped over the counter.
"Oh, yeah. Yeah. Of course." Ariene took the glass and shifted her weight on the stool. "So I was sitting in my friend Pandora's emporium, right? And it's full of…stuff. So she told me not to touch anything because she's a goat witch. And I probably shouldn't have. But then there's this super awesome, bright yellow pot that looks and smells like really good lemonade, right? So what do I do? Naturally, I open it." She leaned forward. "But."
“But…”
"What do you know, this giant spirit comes out. It was just a little smaller than me, but it was super cold and scattered red beads all over the floor. Then I tried hitting at it, and I slipped! It started running around the room but I wasn't about to let it get away so easily. So I took the pot and chased right after it. There were so many beads, honestly, I tripped quite a few times. But then I decided to trick it! Pandora hadn't taught me nothing, after all. We're the best friend squad. So then."
"Hey barkeep. Could I have some vodka?" Calix asked and looked at the bartender and smiled a bit.
Ariene snorted, then continued. "So there I was, panicking in the middle of a goat witch's emporium with an aggressive spirit with a ton of red beads. So I think. The beads!"
She looked around for emphasis.
"So I don't waste a second. While the spirit is knocking over voodoo dolls and powers and things, I'm picking up all the beads and putting them in my hand. Then I yell at the spirit, put the pot down, and run a couple meters away. So it comes. And then, I start throwing the red beads into the pot. One by one. This spirit wants its beads now, right, so it goes right back in after them. But before it can get out, I do a fantastic baseball dive and close the lid!"
“Good job Ariene. And, yes mystery man you can have have some vodka. Do you happen to have a name?”
"Oh, I know. And Pandora didn't suspect a thing." Ariene drank her lemonade, her pride on the job renewed.
"Yeah I do in fact have a name. Calix, what about you. Do you happen to have a name." Calix asked his voice slightly sarcastic as he spoke.
"I have a story, a small tale if you do." The man in the yellow sweater said, he fiddeled with his crystal necklace.
"I like your style." Ariene commented, sipping her yellow lemonade in her yellow outfit with a yellow headband and yellow crystal armor.
Hinata looked down at her yellow shirt, then shrugged.
"Thank you, yellow is a color resembling a survivor in my race." The man said with a simple head nod.
"Ah. For me it is simply cheery."
"Mine's the uniform…" Hinata mumbled, deep into her drink.
Adri glanced back up from her seat. "I don't like yellow…"
The barkeeper not sensing Calix’s sarcasm says,”For now you can just address me as barkeeper. I do agree that yellow is a lovely color, bright as chimera scales. Now, you with the bracelet, tell us your name and your story.”
“And you with the water, you’ve been rather silent. Name and story as well.”
