Damian’s face lit up red at the close proximity.
Damian’s face lit up red at the close proximity.
Catori smiled goofily, her nose still against his.
“This is extremely unorthodox.” Damian grumbled, trying to be serious and failing miserably.
"I know!" She replied cheerily, smile widening.
“You’re very odd.” Damian smiled back. “I wish I could keep you warm too.” He added quietly.
"I'm always warm, though. Oddly enough, this helps cool me off." Catori shrugged one shoulder.
Damian raised an eyebrow. “Close proximity cools you?” He asked skeptically.
"No, the use of my magic. See, I'm always unnaturally hot, but this uses my own body heat." Catori attempted to explain, moving her face away from his.
Damian felt a pang in his chest at the sudden loss of contact. A pour formed on his face for a moment, but he quickly shook it off. “I get cold when I’m tired.”
"I guess that makes us a good pair, then. Balancing each other out." Catori said thoughtfully.
“Guess so.” Damian hummed.
"I have a question." Catori said suddenly, looking incredibly serious.
Damian blinked, growing confused and nervous. “Ask me anything, Princess.”
"What's your favorite flower?" Catori kept the serious look on her face, gazing intently at Damian as though this was the most important question in the world.
Damian lightened up a bit, his gaze softening with confusion at her serious behavior. “Orchids.”
"Oh, that's a good flower!" Catori brightened, the seriousness disappearing in a split second. "I was worried you'd have a bad favorite flower."
“A bad one? Like one used for bad things?” Damian asked, remembering their earlier conversation.
"No, like daisies." She spat the word 'daisies' as though the flowers had personally wronged her. "Although yes, ones used for bad things. Mostly daisies though."
“What’s wrong with daisies?” Damian looked amused, but also a bit offended. “They never did anything to you.” He complained.
"They did though! Well, the twins did, but the daisies are at fault too!" Catori huffed.
Damian smirked in amusement. “What exactly did they do, Sparrow?”
"They put daisies everywhere." Catori grumbled unhappily. "And let me tell you, it is not fun waking up to three different daisy chains dangling right in your face."
“Isn’t it though? I think I’d rather like that as a prank.” Damian commented, allowing his eyes to shut again.
"Not when daisies make you sneeze." Catori said, studying his face.
“Are you allergic?” Damian hummed, his voice started to fade into a whisper.
