"Damian, this is their home. We can't take them away from it." Catori said, shaking her head softly.
"Damian, this is their home. We can't take them away from it." Catori said, shaking her head softly.
Damian sighed. “I suppose. They’re very polite though.” He stroked a small bunny behind the ears.
"Polite is good. Have you met rabbits that weren't polite?" Catori asked curiously, raising an eyebrow.
“The rabbits in the castle gardens were foul mouthed little beasts.” Damian grumbled, watching the bunnies hop out of his lap.
"It seems like most creatures near and in the palace were." Catori pointed out, smiling as she watched the rabbits.
“Agreed.” Damian stood up, stretching. “That place wasn’t so… kind towards me in any form.”
Catori looked up at him, a sad smile on her face. "I'm sorry."
“Don’t be. For the next six months it’ll only be us.” He smiled warmly at Catori. “I should probably spent the night researching, but…” He eyed Catori, clearly wanting to cuddle again.
She chuckled, standing up. "Let's head back. I can hang these to dry and then you can get some sleep."
“If that’s what you’d like, Princess.” Damian scratched the back of his bashfully, maybe overplaying the smitten prince bit he was doing. Though whether it was just acting had started to grow murky in his heart as the lines blurred.
"It is." Catori's eyebrow quirked in amusement as she held out her hand for him to take. She was decently aware of what he was doing, and didn't care at all.
Damian gently grabbed her hand, taking comfort from the gesture. “Thank you for helping the bunny.”
"It was nothing." Catori began to lead him back through the trees. "Anyone would have."
“I could list four people who wouldn’t have off the top of my head.” Damian replied, allowing himself to be led along. “You really are quite special, Sparrow.”
"How do you figure?" Catori asked curiously, looking around. This way, right?
“You’re beautiful, intelligent, gentle, and possibly have the best powers out of anyone I’ve met.” Damian listed a bit dramatically.
"I'm out of ways to insist that I'm not as beautiful as you say I am, so I'm moving on to that second one." Catori ignored the blush creeping up her neck, frowning as she tried to remember the way back.
Damian hadn’t seemed to realize they were lost quite yet, too focused on the princess in front of him. “I’d like to see you try to challenge me on that one.”
Not wanting to admit that they were lost, she kept going. "Oh, that's easy. Just wait until you get to know me better."
“I’ll add humble to the list of your good qualities then.” Damian squeezed her hand softly.
Catori pulled to a stop, looking around just a tad bit frantically. "While this is a great topic," She said sarcastically. "We might have a problem. And another thing to tack onto the bad qualities list."
“I doubt that, but what’s wrong?” Damian gazed intently at Catori, a bit curious.
Catori's face scrunched up, and her eyes stopped on him. "I-uh…I think we're lost. Dammit, I did it again."
Damian smiled, stopping for a moment. “Copper!” He called out, pausing to see if the bird heard him.
A few moments later, Copper sailed through the trees, grumbling as she landed on Catori's shoulder. "What?"
