Catori's eyes shot open, face managing to get even redder. "I-I'm not m-modest, I'm right." She stuttered, internally freaking out.

Lotus stepped out of the carriage and looked around at the quaint little town, "That sounds great. Lead the way Pine."
She raised an eyebrow and shrugged, "Whatever you say." She nudged Poe's side and looked around the forest as she followed Victor.

Damian’s eyes immediately locked onto hers, studying the bright color with fascination. “Don’t be ridiculous. There’s a reason Kai went after you too.”
"He went after me because I was alone, and looked friendly." Catori pointed out.
“Are you sure it wasn’t because of those eyes of yours?” Damian seemed content to just lie there and gaze at her face.
"I'm fairly certain, yes." Damian's focus on her face was strange, but she didn't look away, taking the time to study him in return. "I wasn't even looking at him when he approached me."
“He’s irrelevant anyways. You do realize you have stunning eyes?” Damian seemed to have taken notice that Catori was staring back at him and grew a little flustered, breaking eye contact. “Is there dirt on my face?” He began to paw and wipe at his cheeks.
"No, I just figured of you were going to stare at me, I would stare back." Catori said, trying to ignore the warmth in her chest at his compliment.
“That seems irrational.” Damian protested softly, his eyelids beginning to droop from Catori’s warmth.
"Whatever you say, Dami." Catori chuckled, finding his reaction amusing.
“You better not let anyone hear you call me that. No one will take their kind seriously.” Damian grumbled, but he was obviously quite fond that Catori had nicknamed him already.
((Fun fact! I read something a while ago, and I'm fairly certain, in Arabic maybe? That calling someone Dami is basically like calling them 'my heart', so uh, romance!
"And what will you do, if I ignore that and call you it in public?" Catori asked, smiling a bit cheekily.
“I’ll be extra bitter and foul towards everyone. Or pretend you’re calling someone else and expose you for a fake affair. Depends on the day.” Damian smiled gently in amusement.
"But what if I run with the affair one? Pretend I actually am. That could be fun." Catori replied, snickering.
“I’ll run you out of the castle and be a tyrant.” Damian grumbled, pretending to menacingly bare his teeth.
"And you'll find yourself dead at the hands of someone close to you." Catori said surely, grinning. "And I will be sad."
“Then don’t call me Dami in public.” Damian growled, but he lacked menace, preferring to snuggle closer to Catori instead.
(That nickname is so cute I can’t)
"Whatever you say, Dami." Catori's smile brightened, and she amped up the heat a bit more.
The change in Damian was almost instant as he nuzzled closer to Catori, trying to soak up all the heat. “You’re fantastic…” He mumbled blissfully, closing his eyes.
"You're just using me for my magic." Catori joked, ignoring the flash of a memory in her mind.
“Just an added bonus.” Damian pulled Catori as close as he could, resting his head only an inch or two away from hers.
"Uh huh." Catori rolled her eyes, the close proximity making her just a tad nervous, for absolutely no reason. He's like a cat.
“I trust you way too much already.” Damian yawned, half asleep.
"You say that like it's a bad thing." Catori said, voice soft.
