Skye watched, taking the other side, reinforcing his shield to block arrows he started moving. Guiding both of the other two to the alleys. "C'mon…. we can still make it.." he said.
Dwyer managed to help Amato into the alleyway before the prince growled, ripping away from him before beginning to storm in front of Skye. He looked downright pissed now, and when he fixed his sights on two archers atop buildings in front of them he jumped up and began moving between them before landing atop the buildings. He ripped the archers apart, snarling as he whipped around looking for the next
Skye sighed in frustration. "Lovely." he growled. Hey! I know you're mad but we need to book it if we're gonna make it out alive! he told the other, speaking through a telepathic connection, loud enough to drown out any other thought process Amato may have had at the moment.
(FYI Imma be gone most of the afternoon, and won't be back till 5…)
(it's all good)
Amato faltered for a moment when Skye spoke, but he quickly shook his head and growled. It will be faster if I clear out some of the enemies in front of us! he snapped back before taking out another archer
Skye sighed. Fine. But hurry up! he told the other, quickly tying Dwyer into the link so he could hear them. Next Skye summoned his own powerful violet and silver aura, lashing out at several more archers from the ground, knocking them unconscious and immobilizing them.
Dwyer hung back a little, not entirely equipped to fight since he was mostly a healer. But when a swordsman snuck up on him, he quickly turned around, smacking the man upside the head before producing a dagger from his boot and slashing the man's throat
Skye nodded in approval when he saw Dwyer take out his would-be attacker, taking out several more guards in the next few moments. Amato!! We need to get out of here!! He called once more, this time more urgently. He backed away, Dwyer, be ready to run alright?
Amato just growled before suddenly appearing beside them, and Dwyer gave a short Understood, over the link as they followed after Skye
Skye nodded, turning to run, keeping a mental eye out behind them he led them into the alleys, heading for the town gates. Alright, so, change of plan, we're leaving town, since obviously they're going to come after us.. he told the two, running faster.q
What if I fly us out? Amato asked. I can't shift yet, but the spell will wear off once we're out of range of the fortress.
We can hide until them. I can find us somewhere, I have safehouses everywhere, Dwyer piped up
Good ideas, but we'll have a better chance of hiding in the woods… said Skye, Mostly cause that's my territory. He grinned smugly, Amato, how long can you keep this pace? he asked, figuring Dwyer was a full human.
As long as we need, Amato answered smugly, but when he looked back at Dwyer he looked like he was struggling a little by now. But he quickly pulled a vial out of his satchel, tipping back a yellow liquid and ignoring the apparent foul taste, as was apparent from the way his nose wrinkled
Skye rolled his eyes at Dwyer, suddenly shifting to the form of a large wolf midstride, slowing, and coming closer to Dwyer as he ran. Get on. Now. he said, I hope you can keep up with a wolf Amato
Amato couldn't help but roll his eyes as he kept stride with the others easily, Dwyer quickly hopping onto Skye, albeit with a small pout. I would have been fine, that was a stamina potion, he huffed
Maybe, But I can still run faster, stamina or not.. said Skye gently. Then he turned to Amato and glared, not liking being made fun of. Simultaneously he sped up, going from light lope, to full on run.
At this point, Amato had resorted to bounding after them on all fours, tail whipping as he grinned. The guards hadn't gotten this far into the city after them, and Dwyer hung on for dear life as they ran
Skye huffed, running a bit faster as they came into view of the gate. Dwyer, lean forward, and move with me… wrap your arms around my neck if you have to. he told the other firmly, summoning his power once more.
Dwyer simply followed instructions, leaning and hanging onto Skye's fur tightly while Amato growled lowly, bounding after them as they reached the gate
Skye opened a portal in front of them, leaping through it to get past the gate, closing it once Amato was through, and proceeding to lead them deep into the trees.
Amato followed after, Dwyer grabbing onto Skye just a little less now that he felt a bit more safe. "Are we free now?" he asked softly, looking around idly
Skye kept to the pace they were at. More or less, but we can't stop now, we need to get well away from the city first.
Dwyer just huffed softly at that. He wanted to take a nap, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to with the ride jostling him like this
Skye led them deep into the woods, keeping to pace for a few hours, finally slowing as the sun rose. Eventually he stopped in a small clearing, huffing a little from the long, fast run.
