Estelle heaved herself up one last time, but she failed again, unsurprisingly. She reluctantly gave up and climbed onto Elias's back.
Estelle heaved herself up one last time, but she failed again, unsurprisingly. She reluctantly gave up and climbed onto Elias's back.
Elias grabbed onto the rope when he felt Estelle get onto his back. He started to pull himself up the rope, until he was on the roof.
Essar looked at 5 and grinned. 5 glared. "I am not carrying you." She growled. Essar held his hands up. "I didn't say anything." He walked over and climbed up, Hi-5 following.
Elias set Estelle down. "Winter is in there. Just up that ramp. I'm going to make sure we have everything."
(Ohmigosh, I'm dying! Lol)
(The sass is strong with 5)
Estelle ran up the ramp and looked at Winter. Her eyes glowed instantly and she felt a strong connection surround her. "W-Winter?"
Essar pulled the cable out of the skylight and handed it to 5.
(Lol)
Winter turned around. What she saw scared her. Her eyes grew wide from shock. "Snowbird? Is that you? It- it can't be. You died, 6 years ago. I saw it happen. What I'm seeing is blowing my mind. You, you're alive, but they have done something to you. Your hair is no longer white, your eyes no longer their cerulean blue. What happened? Wait, Do you remember your old life? Do you remember me, or Hoth?
"Snowbird? Old life? Hoth?" Estelle was confused. Everything was fuzzy, but she was very aware of the connection to this girl.
Essar and 5 jogged into the ship, setting down equipment. "Everyone here?"
Winter gave a sad look to Estelle. "You don't remember me do you? Snowbird was your old name. Hoth was your home planet. You were once like me and Elias. But, they have changed you. In your old life, we were best friends. Until, the imperials came in, and what I thought, killed you. They erased everything from your brain. They changed you. they took your power away. If I help you, you may be able to control liquid ice, or water, as other people call it, but you will never be able to get your armor back…"
Estelle felt as if someone had smacked her across the face. She leaned heavily on the wall. "My life is a lie," she whispered.
Elias walked into the ship. "Yeah. I think everyone is here. Hey, Winter, are you ok? You looked shocked, and very upset." He walked over to Winter and put his arm around her, and blew an icy breeze through her hair.
5 jogged into the cock pit. "We're gone Nerf herders!" She shouted, revving the engine.
Estelle sank to her knees, still relying on the wall for stable balance.
Winter leaned into Elias' shoulder. "Estelle. Or Snowbird. I don't know what to call you anymore. I'm just going to stick with Estelle. You were 12 when the imperials came in, and killed everyone in our clan except for me, and you. You protected me. You woke me up, and told me to hide. You posed as me. When they came for me, they got you. they picked you up by the neck, and choked you out. They threw you onto the floor, and spit on you. Then, they "shot" you. I know now that they stunned you. After that, they took you, and turned your life into a lie. What you knew, was what they wanted you to know… I;m sorry that I have to be the one telling you this… I thought you knew…"
Estelle couldn't speak. She only listened, grasping at every detail of her past. Finally, she managed, "What was I like?"
Winter looked at Elias and touched his face. She then went over to Estelle. "You should meet Shiloh. She could help you out. She could help comfort you. She helped me. A whole lot. Thanks to her, I can talk about my planet, and my home, and what once was."
Estelle was still numb. "I'm sorry- I can't- I… I…"
Winter sighed. She sat down beside Estelle. "You, you were everything that I couldn't be. You understood people, and you were always the preferred person to be around. You brought joy, and made even the saddest person smile. You were a light and hope when there was none. You made Hoth a better place. When you disappeared, or died as I thought, I strove to be like you. It kept me going when I couldn't go anymore…"
The ship rose and pulled out of Naboo's atmosphere. Essar jogged into the cockpit, glancing out the window. "Do we have company?" "There's no way they'd know we're here Ess." 5 muttered. "That's what I thought when my family was taken 5. Never assume."
Estelle felt emotions sing in her veins. She felt the cold overcome her. In an instant, a cloud of snow mist swirled around her. When it cleared, she was Snowbird, curled up in a fetal position, shaking in terror.
Elias walked away to give Winter and Estelle some space. "Essar, I think we're good. I don't see anybody, and how could they know that Winter could telepathically communicate with Estelle?"
