(I don't know if she is…)
(Idk)
(I am here now! I'm sorry, I had gym.)
Shiloh followed Winter to the girl's bunks. She laid down and closed her eyes, but she didn't fall asleep just yet.
(Don't be sorry friend!)
(I'm here, sorry had band… )
(Don't be sorry!)
Winter was thinking. She feared sleep, she never wanted what happened to her, to happen to anyone else, yet it had. Then, she realized, that her bunk looked like the room that she hid in back on Hoth. Suddenly panic set in…
Essar sighed. He wouldn't be getting any sleep. To many memories pushing to the front of his mind.
Elias was quiet He was trying to sleep, but what Winter had said earlier, that he wasn't supposed to hear, was tormenting his mind. He just couldn't believe that his Winter, had kept that hidden from him, and was always so happy.
Shiloh heard Winter breathing heavily and she opened her eyes. Winter was standing above her bunk, her eyes widened in fear and horror. Shiloh sat up. "Winter? Are you ok?" She put a hand on Winter's arm, ignoring the piercing cold on her palm.
Winter jerked her head toward Shiloh. She muttered, "Yeah, I'm fine. I have never slept on a ship before. I really don't know what to expect…" She hoped that Shiloh didn't catch her lie…
Shiloh raised her eyebrows disbelievingly.
Winter was scared that Shiloh was catching on. She looked at her bed, and backed up. It gaped at her. She couldn't seem to catch her breath. The world was going black, all she remembered saying to Shiloh was, "I'm fine, just maybe get Elias. He's cold, maybe I'll wake up.." Then Winter hit the floor, passed out, and launched into her dreams…
When Winter passed out, Shiloh was still holding her arm, so she was pulled down also. She scrambled to her feet and screamed, "Elias!"
Elias jolted awake. Shiloh was screaming his name. He didn't know what was going on. He just got up and bolted to the girl's room. We he got there, the door was open, and Shiloh was leaned over Winter. All he could do was ask Shiloh, "What happened?" As he rushed over to her side, picked her up, and put her on the bed. He made his eyes glow, and suddenly the temperature in the room dropped…
Essar heard Shiloh scream for Elias. He got up and followed Elias. "What's the matter Shiloh?"
Elias was only worried about Winter. The cold should have woken her by now… He was starting to freak out. Meanwhile, Winter was reliving her worst nightmare…
"She was staring at the bed, and then she just fell," Shiloh said, squeezing one of Winter's hands in her own. Suddenly, Elias's eyes began to glow. Shiloh released Winter's hand and curled into a ball, shivering. Elias's cold strength overcame the room.
Elias was starting to cry. He couldn't drop the temperature anymore without hurting Essar or Shiloh. Winter wasn't waking up, and she had started twitching. He was scared for her life. But most of all, he was mad that he couldn't do anything to wake her up…
Winter hated this. Her nightmares were never triggered by a sight, let alone a panic attack. Everything was fuzzy. She was watching her best friend die, and then her people, and finally she saw herself, curled up into a ball, hiding in a little safe room, a poor 12 year old, whose world was torn to pieces…
"Do you two need to be alone?" Essar asked softly. "Sometimes it helps."
Elias looked at Essar. He appreciated his gesture, but he needed Essar and Shiloh to stay until Winter woke up. They were all that was keeping him from breaking. "Not yet, Essar. You and Shiloh are all that's keeping me from losing it, and I need that right now." That moment, Winter started spazzing out. Elias was freaking out. "Shiloh! Pin her arms down! She can't flop around like this, she'll hurt herself!"
Winter felt cold seep into her nightmare. She was trying to go to the cold, but the nightmare was trying to keep her. She was fighting now, for freedom from her past. She hoped that the cold pull was Elias. He was the only thing that she needed to wake up.
Shiloh grabbed Winter's arms and held them to the floor. "Come on Winter… be strong," she whispered. She looked at Elias. "Make it colder," she said firmly.
Elias gave Shiloh a crazy look. "Colder?! You know what that would do to a twi'lek? You could potentially get frostbite! It's already below zero! Any colder, and you and Essar are at risk for freezing alive, and frostbite! No. Winter just has to fight… She'll make it. I hope…
