“Busy? Phantom, you’ve been missing- And I’ve been worried. . .“
Glitch stayed persistent in following Phantom. They didn’t intend on letting her get away any time soon.
Phantom sighed and turned around, glaring at Glitch. “Well, don’t be. I’m alive, aren’t I?” She had an unusual tone of hostility in her voice.
“Why are you here, anyway?”
Glitch stopped and flinched back at her tone. The glitchy-blur effect came back, earning them a few confused looks from passing-by strangers. “I can’t- what the hell is in your mouth-“
Almost out of reflex, they took the cigarette and dropped it on the ground. Which, admittedly, might have been a bit of a rude gesture.
(Noooo poor baby 😭)
Phantom stared at Glitch for a moment, visibly offended. She looked at the cigarette on the ground, then rolled her eyes and pulled out another one, mumbling under her breath. “Bitch…”
She lit her new cigarette, then crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. “You can’t what?”
Bitch?
Glitch’s expression immediately turned to on of. . . hurt. As they watched Phantom take out a new cigarette, they glitched a couple more times and closed their eyes. Keep it together, you’re in public. If he found out you got compromised. . .
They sighed and looked at Phantom again. “I can’t tell you. M- it’s classified.” So much so that even they don’t even know what exactly they’re looking for. But with Phantom here, they were getting suspicions.
(Casually sobbing bc I don’t want to hurt them but Phantom’s mean asf)
Phantom hesitated after seeing Glitch’s expression. She sighed again and looked down. “I have a feeling I already know.”
She pulled the makeshift device out of her pocket again. “Sorry, Glitch.” She walked over to a nearby building. This’ll cause enough chaos. “I did say I was never a hero. Just fought the bad guys by circumstance.” She stared at the device in her hand and smirked. “What did he say? ‘Watch out for anything suspicious?’”
She laughed to herself. “Well, I’d say seeing your friend holding a bomb might be a bit suspicious. I could be wrong, though.”
She looked back at Glitch, and it was very obvious that her sanity was likely dwindling faster than anyone had anticipated.
(eats your writing)
(>:0)
Glitch stared at her, confused at first as they watched her take out some sort of device. It seemed to be the same thing she dropped earlier. “Phantom, wait-” They took a few steps forward and extended their hand quickly, but then hesitated.
”Why are you do- doing this?” Their voice crackled and distorted about halfway through their sentence. They were scared. Not for themselves. For Phantom. Damn it, should they have done something differently?
Phantom slowly walked towards Glitch, stopping right in front of them. She tilted her head and smiled at Glitch. After an uncomfortable silence, she whispered, “I’m proving them all wrong.”
She stepped back again, spreading her arms out in a dramatic gesture. “I never asked for my powers, Glitch. I could’ve lived a normal life.” Her tone was now full of resentment.
She pulled her mask over her face and raised her voice. “Well, now that I have powers, I should be able to use them however I want, don’t you think? …But you don’t, do you? You’re just like the rest of them, aren't you?”
She threw the bomb at the wall she was standing next to earlier, and it stuck to the wall and started beeping.
“I suggest you run back to O’Hara now, friend. Unless you’d prefer to be blown to bits.”
(She’s so dramatic smh)
(Smh,, I’m guessing the timer on the bomb is a low number)
“I never asked for mine either,” they said in a low tone unfitting of their usual bright personality.
And then they did run.
But not in the direction Phantom had expected. They ran towards the bomb, throwing their sunglasses to the ground and pulling their suit mask out of their jacket. They snatched the bomb from the wall and put their mask on, shooting a web up onto one of the buildings and catapulting into the air. Get it away from everyone. Worry about yourself last.
(Why am I always online when nobody else in this rp is,,, now I feel bad)
Phantom pulled her mask on as well, then jumped and climbed up the wall at unnatural speeds. She jumped up onto the roof and ran after Glitch, not bothering to take off her civilian clothes. They might pose an issue to her maneuvering, though.
Maybe that’s a bad idea.
She jumped into a back alley, still running as she hurriedly took off her hoodie, jeans, and boots, until she was just in her suit. She threw them in a corner she knew she’d find later, then pulled her jacket on and jumped back onto the roof. Much better.
(Forgot to mention but yes it’s a short countdown)
(how short)
(Yes)
(Uh)
(Loading)
he was just wandering his apartment wondering if he should text them and if so, what?

(Yep lol)
(yes XD)
(I’ll just assume it’s like. 60 seconds?)
Glitch looked down at the timer on the bomb. 45 seconds.
They deployed a web on a building to their left, swinging down that direction while Phantom was busy. With any luck, they’d lose her that way.
They focused on the bomb in their hand, and a series of glitches traveled down their arm, into their hand, and finally the bomb. The bomb itself started glitching, their abilities both making the atoms it was comprised of phase between different states and frying the electronics in it at the same time.
Of course, it would take more than just a few seconds of that to fully disable it.
As Phantom jumped back onto the building, she noticed that Glitch was gone. Shit. She looked around, then noticed movement in the corner of her eye. She immediately followed it.
Its gonna take a long-ass time to make another one of those if I lose it…
She hopped from building to building, using her levitation abilities to help her stay in the air long enough. She considered cloaking herself with an illusion, but decided against it. Where’s the fun in that?
Glitch glanced back, noticing Phantom once again following them. Shit. They checked the timer on the bomb again. Twenty seconds, it’ll be dead in five.
They shot another web, the trajectory of which sent them headed right into the wall of a building. They narrowed their eyes as their whole body started to glitch. This should deter Phantom for just long enough.
Phantom glowered at Glitch as she chased them. ”Stop running-“
She let out a yell of frustration when Glitch headed straight towards a wall. She jumped on top of the building Glitch was headed to, then rolled her eyes dramatically and facepalmed. Just perfect.
