Trenton chewed his lower lip, considering the offer. “Swear off soda for a month and the information is yours.”
Trenton chewed his lower lip, considering the offer. “Swear off soda for a month and the information is yours.”
“Wait, that’s all? I don’t even have to tell you anything….?”
“That’s not how negotiation works, little dwarf. You’d have to do both.” Trenton smiled, rolling his eyes a little.
Lydia cursed again, and said, “Fine. No soda.”
Trent narrowed his eyes when Lydia cursed, but kept his mouth shut. “Do we have a deal then?”
“Deal.”
(Ugh, I hate to cut this short, I’ll be back in the morning. Got some family stuff to take care of)
“Perfect.” Trenton replied smoothly. “You tell me your thing, I’ll give you my age, and then no soda for a month.”
(It’s okay! Goodnight then!)
“Wait, Wait, Wait. I believe I said you tell me first, then I tell you, then no soda for a month.”
(I’m baaaaaaaack)
(I'm good with anything)
“I want half up front.” Trenton looked at Lydia in amusement. “I need to teach you about negotiation.”
(Okay cool @HOney and Spearmint)
"What did any of that even mean?" Lydia asked incredulously.
Trenton held back a laugh, breaking his composure with a toothy grin. “You tell me, I tell you, then no soda. Take it or leave it, dwarf.”
This plan was not going well. It was in her nature to win by cheating. "You know, I can always just find out another way." She backpedaled.
“I bet you could, but this is the easiest.” Trenton leaned back, unfazed by this. “You don’t have anything to tell me, do you?”
Lydia flushed. "Er….. no…. Listen, cheating is how I win…."
“If you’re going to outwit me, you’re going to have to be more unconventional.” Trent smirked. “I grew up at board meetings, therefore, I know how to negotiate. That’s my specialty.”
"I grew up at poker games. I know how to cheat. And usually it works."
Trenton’s eyes flashed with worry, taking a second look at Lydia. “First of all, cheating is a poor man’s game.” He scolded softly.
"That gives you an insight into what my home life was like then." Lydia said, impulsively. "And cheating was the only way for a nine year old to win."
Trenton’s eyes widened, the scowl dropping from his face. “You what? He immediately pulled her into a bear hug, suddenly extremely worried.
Lydia cursed. "It's not a big deal."
“Yes it is.” Trent mumbled, hugging her tighter. “I’m 17.” He added softly, his empathy getting the better of him. As far as he was concerned, making Lydia smile was his top priority. He released her from the hug and stepped back.
"And you couldn't've just told me that?" Lydia asked, smiling.
(Oh, also, since I'm an idiot, she isn't a year-round camper, like I put at the beginning(at least I think I put it at the beginning). That was an idea I was messing around with, but I changed it.)
The relief on Trent’s face was clearly visible. “It’s no fun that way.” He pouted a little.
(It’s fine lol! I gtg for a couple hours anyways, I have work rn)
(ok, bye. I'll be around all day)
"Would've been easier though."
