The Scottish gambling industry has petitioned to allow casinos to reopen at Level 2, rather than Level 1, of the country's five-level restriction system.

Industry representatives claim that up to 700 jobs are at risk of being laid off if the regulations continue.
Casinos are currently allowed to open on the island and in Moray and Highland (the only municipalities on Level .
The petition will be sent to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
The petition states: "Since reopening, our local casinos have gone out of their way to ensure that we can continue to visit them in the safest way possible.
"Along with meticulous hygiene measures, PPE equipment and social distance mitigation measures, Scotland's casinos have invested hundreds of thousands of pounds to ensure the safety of their venues.
Michael Dugher, chief executive of the Betting and Gaming Council, argued that casinos should be treated like pubs and restaurants.
The former council member said: "Scotland's casinos reopened safely in August and were fully covidenced.
There is absolutely no evidence that casinos are contributing to the spread of coronavirus.
That is why the industry is united in urging the Scottish government to think again, remove casinos from Level 2, and allow them to reopen for business."
